Traits

Lightning Absorption. Whenever the shambling mound is subjected to lightning damage, it takes no damage and regains a number of hit points equal to the lightning damage dealt.

Body Snatcher. The zuggie collects bodies and feeds off their brain until they die, then it uses their bodies as fungal sanctuaries and weapons. The zuggie can have as many creatures engulfed as it wants at a time. With every extra creature, the zuggie gains 20 health, +1 int, and an extra attack. The zuggie can also use each of it’s bodies as a puppet, using basic abilities of that creature as a reaction once a turn.

Actions

Multiattack. The zuggie makes a slam attack for each of it’s captured bodies. If two attacks hit a Medium or smaller target, the target is grappled (escape DC 15), and the shambling mound uses its Engulf on it, forcing it’s vine down the victim’s throat.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage. The creature being used as the slam takes half that damage.

Engulf. The zuggie engulfs a Medium or smaller creature grappled by it. The engulfed target is restrained, and unable to breathe, and it must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw at the start of each of the mound’s turns or take 13 (2d8 + 4) bludgeoning damage. If the mound moves, the engulfed target moves with it. The vine has AC 15 and can be severed by dealing 8 or more slashing damage to it on one attack. Cutting the root doesn’t hurt the blight but ends the grapple

Reactions

Body Collection: The zuggie can use any basic abilities of creatures engulfed by it as a reaction.
