Traits

Ambusher. On the first round of each combat, the yara-ma-yha-who has advantage on attack rolls against a creature that hasn’t taken a turn yet.

Standing Leap. The yara-ma-yha-who’s long jump is up to 25 feet and its high jump is up to 15 feet, with or without a running start.

Actions

Multiattack. The yara-ma-yha-who makes two sucker attacks or makes one sucker attack and uses its Swallow action.

Sucker. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) bludgeoning damage plus 3 (1d6) poison damage. If the target is a Large or smaller creature, it is grappled (escape DC 15). Until the grapple ends, the yara-ma-yha-who cannot use this sucker on another target.

Swallow Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one Large or smaller creature the yara-ma-yha-who is grappling. Hit: 16 (1d10 + 3) piercing damage, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. The swallowed target is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the yara-ma-yha-who, and it takes 10 (3d6) acid damage and 8 (2d8) at the start of each of the yara-ma-yha-who’s turns. The yara-ma-yha-who can have only one target swallowed at a time.

If a creature is reduced to 0 hit points, it is stabilized and regurgitated. If the yara-ma-yha-who dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse using 10 feet of movement, exiting prone.

At the end of the swallowed creature's next short or long rest, the creature must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or the creature's size is halved in all dimensions, and its weight is reduced to one-eighth of normal. This reduction decreases its size by one category. If this effect reduces the creature to Tiny or smaller, it becomes a yara-ma-yha-who.

Description

Yara-ma-yha-who are tiny red frog man and are often mistaken as grung, but this can be a deadly mistake.

Grung Impersonators. Yara-ma-yha-who have red skin and white lines patterned across their faces. They have disproportionately large heads for their bodies. They have no teeth in their gaping mouth, and they have suckers on the tips of their fingers and toes. With what little deceptive talents they have, yara-ma-yha-who will often infiltrate grung societies, parading as a mute dwarf red grung. This charade is doomed to fail as yara-ma-yha-who have no patience for the scholarly work red grungs are supposed to do. Before the yara-ma-yha-who is discovered, it is able to eat several grungs of varying levels and continue to spread.

Amphibian Vampires. With no reproductive system, the yara-ma-yha-who has found another way to spread. A yara-ma-yha-who sits in tree branches, waiting for a creature to rest below it. The yara-ma-yha-who drops down and attaches its suckers to the creature, draining its blood. It then opens its mouth in an incomprehensible way and swallows the creature and takes a nap. Upon waking, the yara-ma-yha-who regurgitates the creature. The victim is then shorter, and their skin has a reddish tint it did not previously have. After repeating this process at length, the creature is transformed into a yara-ma-yha-who. A yara-ma-yha-who who cannot find an easily accessible meal can subsist off figs and so many of the most audacious yara-ma-yha-wo can be found in fig trees.
