Description
Acolytes of the Mad One typically remain at the forefront of seeding out demented indoctrination into the general public. They also do most of the physical work in starting mass infections of Yellow Psychosis.
Cult of the Mad One
Believing that the bliss of insanity is the superior state of mind for all creatures, cultists of the Mad One willingly break their minds in their crazed zeal. By worshiping the eldritch god of madness, these zealots harness the mental corruption of Yellow Psychosis and act as a living medium for the disease. Cultists of the Mad One firmly adhere to the ideology that in a state of mind-numbing psychosis, leaving nothing but carnal desires and primal thoughts, there would be no room for social conflict. A world without any intellectual will would have no wars, hatred, or misery, never mind that there would likewise be no sense of self, passion, or solidarity. The cult establishes chapters in the underbellies of populations to propagate its agenda, first using rhetorical preaching to garner recruits before forcibly infecting people with Yellow Psychosis if the process takes too long.
Cultists of the Mad One derive their psychic distorting powers by directly siphoning from the mad god's domain, an ability they receive through a pact with the eldritch being's will. Through this pact, any cultist who dedicates themselves to madness and endures the demented ritual of communion with the Mad One gains the Exalted Yellow Psychosis trait.
Exalted Yellow Psychosis. This creature is infected with 3rd-degree Yellow Psychosis. Additionally, the creature can't be affected or detected by enchantment spells of a certain level or lower. The level of spells they can't be affected or detected by is determined by their rank in the Cult of the Mad One (4th for acolytes, 5th for votaries, and 6th for chosen).
