Danger Sense. The Bestial Bestiary has advantage on initiative rolls. Additionally, if it is surprised at the beginning of combat and isn't incapacitated, it can act normally on its first turn, but only if it enters its rage before doing anything else on that turn.
Animalistic Leap. The Bestial Bestiary can jump up to 20 feet with or without a running start.
Rage. (1/day). As a bonus action on its turn, the Bestial Bestiary can enter a rage. While raging, it gains the following benefits: it has advantage on Strength Checks and Strength Saving Throws, a +2 bonus to the damage rolls of its attacks, and Resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage. Its rage lasts for 1 minute. This rage ends early if it is knocked Unconcious, tamed, or if it ends its turn and hasn't attacked a creature since its last turn or taken damage since then.
Affection Starved. The Bestial Bestiary is starved for affection and has disadvantage on attack rolls while hugged (grappled). Using an action to pet (animal Handling dc 9) the Bestial Bestiary after grappling will stun the creature dropping its rage effect if active. Using another action to pet (animal Handling 5) the Bestial Bestiary will tame the creature to the holder.
Tamable. Once Tamed the Bestial Bestiary becomes a living item. (See Tamed Bestial Bestiary)
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) piercing damage plus 4 (1d4) acid damage.
Blood Drain. While latched onto a target, the Bestial Bestiary does not attack. Instead, at the start of each turn, the target loses 15 (2d10+4) hit points due to blood loss. The Bestiary can detach itself by spending 5 feet of its movement.
Description
Created millennia Ago by an Archfey the Bestial Bestiary was banished from the fey wild by a young Titania and Maeve when one bit Titania during a lesson. As her sister Maive laughed Titania grew more and more rageful with her sister. The two fought for days over the slight. But when they reconciled they turned their anger at the Bestial Bestiary. Using their combined powers of Chaos and Order they banished the entire race of creatures to the Material Plane and infused them with the same rage Titania had felt. Once on the mortal plane the Bestial Bestiaries scattered across the lands finding shelter among other books and in wild places. In so doing over the long years since their exile the Bestial Bestiaries have become experts in living things. When the Bestial Bestiary comes into contact with a creature it instinctively knows all about it, using a form of genetic telepathy it can read a creatures past and present, this information is literally written into the nature of the Bestial Bestiary on its pages. A creature who can tame the Bestial Bestiary can read the entries it has compiled possibly gaining an advantage in battle. The entries are written in Sylvan.
The Bestial Bestiary appears as a book bound in a fur covering with a latch that is made from leather and bone. The pages appear to be a thin leathery parchment. When inactive it looks like a decorative book, but when agitated the latch's lip like covering peels back into a snarling jaw with sharp deadly teeth, four eyes are visible on the front cover of the book and four tiny tentacled legs move the creature from the bottom cover.
It is possible to detect the Bestial Bestiaries nature while it is inactive with a great enough inspection. When inactive the Bestial Bestiary may make slight purrs or shift moderately on its own while breathing, these small indicators may be observable by the highly attentive, DC 17 Wisdom (Perception) check.
