Description

Habitat/Society

Argos are solitary creatures found in the same regions of wildspace as the baleful beholder nations. They are often encountered in asteroid rings, dust clouds, or aboard eye tyrant ships as guardians. Argos appear to have a level of intelligence, exhibiting signs of being intelligent tool users. They are driven by their ravenous hunger and often lure prey into traps to feed on them.

Despite their intelligence, argos are solitary creatures and do not form societies or social structures. They have the ability to replenish their own air envelope, enabling them to survive in the vacuum of wildspace. When they cannot find food, they can enter a hibernation state by crystallizing their outer shell and forming a chrysalis.

Ecology

Argos are voracious eaters, consuming anything that moves and is digestible. Their preferred method of hunting is to use their abilities to lure prey into traps and then pick off individuals one at a time. They sort through the tools and weapons of their victims, keeping useful items and discarding the rest.
