Description
Valrik Kaiilius was born a Trifling shortly after the calamity, and can trance his bloodline directly to the archdevil Glasya. When reaching adulthood, Valrick heard whispers from and unkonown being he assumed was one of Glasya legion. The being granted Valrik power in exchange of signing a contract the bound Valrik to the being's master.
Valrik eventually died, only to realize he had been tricked by a demon of the horde of Grazz'zt. Glasya, upon learning that Griz'zt had claimed one of her bloodline, formed a deal with her enemy in exchange for Valrik's soul to be unbound of the contract. Grazz'zt agreed to allow Valrik his freedom if he bound 22 other souls to Graz'zt, one for every year the contract had granted power to Valrik in this mortality.
Valrik took several centuries to exchange contracts on others souls to replace for this freedom, having been a man of Chaotic Netrality, and wishing to insure those he created contacts with would be more a nuance on the mortal plane than an omen of the final days. When his final contract was signed, he then looked to find souls in need to bind to himself, wanting to insure other demons did not teach out to them first.
Having lived his mortal life in Wildmount, Valrik tends to look for souls along the Menagerie Coast, causing him to become a thing off gossip amount some of the citizens there. Valrik's influence has been rumored all across Wildmount as well as with in Ank'Harel, though the validly of those rumors is uncertain.
Valrik is often described as having the cunning and charm of a devil and though appearing more demon like in the form he was bound by the contract after death. It has leathery skin pulled tight over its gaunt frame and two curved horns protruding from the back of its elongated skull. He does show himself with altered forms, that of a Elvish or human male of tacky clothing and drunken demeaner, and of the Teifling form he once held in his mortality.
He main weapons are the mace he once used in his former life and his claws that seemly drip acid like liquid. He was able to retain some spellcasting ability. Upon completing the exchange of souls, he learned to teleport, and gained some legendary status from the rumors about him.
Was built to be NPC stat block for a Call of the Nether Deep Campaign for PC whose father was a demon/devil of some sort.
