Traits

Legendary Resistance (3/Day) If the dragon fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Reflective Armor:  The hollow armor of the Aluminum dragon has unique properties. Whenever it is struck by bludgeoning attacks the armor rings like a gong, dealing 4d4 points of thunder damage to the attacker.

Tearing Force: Whenever the Aluminum dragon suffers 20 points or more slashing damage from a single attack, its AC is lower by two points as its armor tears open.

Actions

Multiattack. The dragon can use its Frightful Presence. It then makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d10 + 6) piercing damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d6 + 6) slashing damage.

Tail. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d8 + 6) bludgeoning damage.

Frightful Presence. Each creature of the dragon's choice that is within 120 feet of the dragon and aware of it must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the dragon's Frightful Presence for the next 24 hours.

Breath Weapons. The dragon uses one of the following breath weapons. These attacks can only be done if the dragon has an inflated throat pouch at the start of its turn.

Sonic Blast . The dragon emits a violent shockwave in a 60-foot cone in front of it. Each creature in that area must make a DC 18 Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 10d8 thunder damage and is deafened for 1 minute. An affected creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of its next turn, ending the effect on itself on a success. The creature takes half as much damage on a successful save and isn't defended.

Siesmic Tremor. The dragon drops to the ground and unleashes a violent tremor. All targets within 60 feet of the dragon must succeed on a DC 18 dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone, suffering 10d6 points of bludgeoning damage. On a success, they only suffer half damage and are not knocked prone. The terrain in the range of the attack transforms into rough terrain until the end of the dragons next turn.

Legendary Actions

The dragon can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The dragon regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Revealing Crash. The dragon claps is wings together, creating a sonic crack that reveals the location of all targets within 40 feet of it, even if they are behind cover or invisible.

Inflating Throat. The dragon inhales a vast amount of air, expanding a large throat pouch. For every turn that passes with its throat inflated, another hit die of damage is added to its breath attacks. If 20 points or more slashing damage is dealt to its throat in a single attack, it will deflate, removing this buff.

Wing Attack (Costs 2 Actions). The dragon beats its wings. Each creature within 10 feet of the dragon must succeed on a DC 19 Dexterity saving throw or take 13 (2d6 + 6) bludgeoning damage and be knocked prone. The dragon can then fly up to half its flying speed.

Description

“We’d been following the trial for 3 days, picking up small, glimmering scales of polished metal that marked the path. Finally, we found their source at the bottom of a vine covered ravine. A slender, angular body wrapped in a wide tail, it’s head tucked beneath a solid wing. We made our observations there, not daring to draw closer. For we had found the legendary chrome serpent, and we did not wish to insight it’s wrath.”  - Excerpt from “Of Flesh and Blood”, concerning a rare sighting of an Aluminum Dragon.

Aluminum is a rare and unique metal. Strong and yet also strangely frail. Incredibly light but capable of impressive feats of strength. Such descriptions also describe the Metallic Dragon fairly well.  Rarely spotted within the towering trees and hills of Nova’tar’s coasts, the illusive aluminum dragon lives a life of secrecy and bliss, joyfully avoiding the angst and dread of most draconic lifestyles. What they do with their time is mostly unknown, but what has been observed finds them sleeping peacefully amongst a pile of polished stones, leaping between tall trees to avoid detection or even swimming in the nearby oceans. Their antics can lead to disaster however, and some have compared what few behaviors have been observed to those of Copper Dragons.

Sporting lithe, slender bodies with sharp, angular shoulders, the dragons look remarkably robust despite their agile movement's. Their wings resemble a solid sheet of metal, lacking the thin membrane of skin on most dragons.  On their heads, a single horn sproute backwards, pointing back from the scalp in a slightly twisted point. Two more crests, like sheets of sharp metal, sit at an angle from the face, connecting to a smooth frill that runs down the spine from the head to the tip of their tail. Their scales are also remarkably strong, providing higher defense then most would expect from such a delicate looking creature. However, when this armor is compromised, they become just as vulnerable as they appear.
