Boiling Aura. When within 30 ft the Boiling Prowler any liquids will begin to boil, and eyes and throats will dry up. When starting their within 5ft., a creature that has blood or the equivalent has to succeed on a DC 13 Constitution saving throw or take 1d4 + 2 fire damage, or half as much on a successful save. If a creature drops to zero hit points while under the effects of the aura, their eyes (if they have any) will explode causing the creature to be blinded.
Heat Vision. The Boiling Prowler doesn't have eyes and instead sees heat signatures via a large heat sensor on it's head. It has a large range of 70ft in all directions, and can detect large sources of heat such as living creatures, fire, machinery, etc. When surrounded by sources of heat, such as a room full of steam or being in direct sunlight, the Boiling Prowler may get confused.
Bite. Melee weapon attack. +2 to hit, reach 5ft., one creature. Hit: 4 (1d6+2) piercing damage.
Charge. The Boiling Prowler moves at least 20 ft straight toward a target and then hits it with a ram attack on the same turn, the target takes 7 (2d6+1) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Barb. Ranged weapon attack. +2 to hit, reach 30ft., one creature Hit: 3 (1d4+1) fire damage. Regardless of whether or not the attack hits, the barb will embed itself into wherever it landed and begin emanating heat in a 10ft radius, with the heat working in a similar way to the Boiling Prowler's Boiling Aura trait. Any creature within the radius must make a DC 10 Constitution saving throw or take 1d4 fire damage. The barbs have 1d4 hit points, and when they are depleted the barb shrivels up, ending the effect.
Description
A bulky yet agile quadrupedal beast, with pale smooth skin. It's head consists of a large domed heat sensory organ located on it's forehead, and a wide tooth-filled mouth. It's long thin tail has a row of thick barbs on it, which emanate an intense heat.
Not much is known about the origin of such beasts, though due to their heat sensing abilities it's theorised that they made have evolved in colder climates, where they would've excelled at hunting prey.
