Limited Telepathy. The faerie dragon can magically communicate telepathically with any creature within 60 feet of it that can understand a language.
Translation of the Astute Bookwyrm. The adult faerie dragon possesses an innate ability to decipher written languages. It can translate as follows:
• Giant (Normal)
• Dwarvish (Normal)
• Gnomish (Normal)
• Halfling (Normal)
• Primordial (Normal)
• Orc (Disadvantage)
• Abyssal (Disadvantage)
• Celestial (Disadvantage)
• Infernal (Disadvantage)
• Undercommon (Disadvantage)
• Druidic (Normal)
When attempting to translate other languages, the faerie dragon rolls a d20 (Intelligence) check. On a roll of 15 or higher, it successfully translates the text, opening a path to comprehension. On a failed attempt, the faerie dragon mistranslates what it is reading, and any repeat attempts to translate the same text will result in the same mistranslation. This resets after a long rest, allowing the refreshed faerie dragon to attempt translation again.
Evasion. If the faerie dragon is subjected to an effect that allows it to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, it instead takes no damage if it succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if it fails.
Magic Resistance. The faerie dragon has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Innate Spellcasting, DC17 . The faerie dragon’s innate spellcasting ability is Charisma. It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
• At will: dancing lights, mage hand, guidance, prismatic spark, prismatic burst
• 1/day: identify, locate object, scriptor’s sanctuary, dimension door
• 2/day: fog cloud, grease, nathair’s mischief, vulnerability curse
• 4/day: phantasmal force, chaos bolt (lvl 3)
Prismatic Spark: Range: 60 feet
Duration: Instantaneous
You conjure a small, shimmering spark of prismatic energy and launch it at a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 2d6 radiant or psychic damage (your choice), and its movement is slowed by 10 feet until the end of its next turn.
Prismatic Burst: Range: 30 feet
Duration: Instantaneous
You hurl a bubble of prismatic energy. Choose one creature within range, or choose two creatures within range that are within 5 feet of each other. A target must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw (DC 16) or take 2d6 radiant or force damage, your choice.
Scriptor’s Sanctuary
The faerie dragon creates a magical barrier that extends in a 20-foot radius centered on the dragon. This sanctuary provides multiple benefits to those within it:
1. Concentration Enhancement: Spellcasters within the sanctuary gain a bonus to their concentration checks equal to the faerie dragon’s Charisma modifier.
2. Elemental Resistance: The sanctuary provides resistance to damage from ranged magical attacks of the four main elemental types: air, earth, fire, and water. Any creature within the sanctuary that is hit by a ranged elemental spell takes 1d4 less damage from the attack.
3. Entrance Ward (Hostile Creatures Only): When a hostile creature attempts to enter the sanctuary, it must make a DC 17 Charisma saving throw. On a failed save, the creature takes 1d4 radiant damage and is prevented from entering the sanctuary. On a successful save, the creature can enter without taking damage. If a hostile creature is within the sanctuary when it is created, they have advantage on this saving throw.
This sanctuary lasts for 1 minute and requires concentration from the faerie dragon.
Vulnerability Curse
The faerie dragon casts a curse on a target creature within 60 feet, invoking its understanding of the vulnerabilities in the fabric of reality. The target must succeed on a DC 17 constitution saving throw or become vulnerable to a chosen damage type for 1 minute. While vulnerable, the target takes an extra 1d4 damage of the chosen type whenever it takes damage from that type. The faerie dragon can choose from damage types. If the target is immune to the chosen damage type, the curse has no effect.
If the target fails the saving throw by five or more, the damage dice for the Vulnerability Curse increases by one step. For example, a failed save by five or more would increase the damage to 1d6, by ten or more would increase it to 1d8, and so on.
The faerie dragon can use “dimension door” to teleport itself and one creature that is smaller by surrounding them with its wings. This teleportation can move them up to 300 feet, provided the destination is within the dragon’s line of sight. The dragon’s wings glow with a faint shimmer as it envelops itself and the chosen creature before vanishing and reappearing at the destination.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 4) piercing damage.
Breath Weapon (Recharge 5-6). The faerie dragon releases a burst of magical energy at a creature within 25 feet of the dragon. The energy automatically hits the target simultaneously, dealing 18 (6d4 + 6) force damage.
Luck of the Fey, Once per day the Faerie Dragon can re-roll a failed attack, ability check or saving throw, if this is done in the Fey realm then the Dragon re-rolls with advantage.
