Immutable Form. The Amalgamated Mayhem is immune to any spell or effect that would alter its form.

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the Abomination of Slaughter fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.

Actions

Multiattack. The Amalgamated Mayhem uses Petrifying Presence, then makes four unique attacks.

Gnash. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 33 (4d12 + 7) bludgeoning damage. If the target is restrained any hit automatically becomes a critical hit. If the target is petrified, it dies instantly and the Amalgamated Mayhem restores 50 hit points.

Cartilaginous Fist. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (2d12 + 7) bludgeoning damage.

Ram Head. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d8 + 7) piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC 19 strength saving throw or be pushed 30ft back and knocked prone.

Skewer. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d8 + 7) piercing damage, and the target must succeed on a DC23 dexterity saving throw or its speed is reduced by 20ft until the end of their next turn.

Bone Lash. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d6 + 7) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC19). Until this grapple ends, the creature is restrained, and the Bone Lash cannot be used to attack another target.

Ophidian Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d4 + 7) piercing damage, plus 24 (7d6) poison damage. The target must make a DC23 Constitution saving throw, taking the poison damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.

Fossilising Beam. Ranged Spell Attack: +14 to hit, range 120 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (4d6) force damage, and the target must make a DC 23 Constitution saving throw. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the creature is instantly petrified. Otherwise, a creature that fails the save begins to turn to stone and is restrained. The restrained creature must repeat the saving throw at the end of its next turn, becoming petrified on a failure or ending the effect on a success. The petrification lasts until the creature is freed by the greater restoration spell or other magic.

Petrifying Presence. Each creature of the Amalgamated Mayhem's choice that is within 120 feet of the Amalgamated Mayhem and aware of it must make a DC 23 Constitution saving throw. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to the Amalgamated Mayhem's Petrifying Presence for the next 24 hours.

Legendary Actions

The Amalgamated Mayhem can take 5 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The Amalgamated Mayhem regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Attack. The Amalgamated Mayhem makes a single attack.

Slither. The Amalgamated Mayhem moves up to 30ft without provoking attacks of opportunity.

Bonecloud (Costs 2 actions). A cloud of dust and bones swirls around the Amalgamated Mayhem. Until the start of the Amalgamated Mayhem's next turn, creatures that end their turn within 30ft of the Mayhem must make a DC 23 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, they take 14 (4d6) bludgeoning damage and are blinded, on a success they take half damage.

Bone Consumption (Costs 3 actions). The Amalgamated Mayhem tries to rip the bones from a creature within 5ft. The target must make a DC 23 strength saving throw. For each point below a success, the target takes 11 (2d10) force damage as a random bone is magically absorbed into the Amalgamated Mayhem's body. For every 5 points below a success, the target additionally gains a level of exhaustion as long as the bones are missing. Bone loss can only be cured by replacing the bones with magic like regeneration, or by killing the Amalgamated Mayhem, which will return all the bones it has consumed to their rightful owners, wherever they are.

Description

Gods…. I-I can’t please don’t make me relive it, please…. -Do as you have been told, we need to know what happened.- I-I……It was supposed to be a simple Archaeological survey, it was meant to be a regular trip. A group of Archaeologists and some students into a recently uncovered dig in the desert, things started well enough, proceedings going as usual. Suddenly the earth and sand opened up taking me and some of the professors and students, I’m not sure how we survived that drop it doesn- (Deep breath).....Sorry beneath was a gargantuan necropolis at least, that’s what we thought, seeing the endless number of coffins and burial chambers. The oddest thing, however, was that none of them had any bones or remains everything was just covered in this thin layer of white sand and stones. A man called Petros an earth Gensasi with fossils growing from seemed uncomfortable I didn’t ask him why, but he seemed to avoid the coffins as if they were cursed…. I should have maybe things would have been different…. Or so I tell myself. To caught up in awe to see the danger we were all i- -Stay on topic, time is of the essence.- Sorry, we explored the Necropolis further it was an incredible sight, the coffins, and surrounding architecture were made from this impossibly black stone that couldn’t be illuminated at all, the deeper we went the more uncomfortable the poor man Petros seemed to get he started scratching the fossils on his skin. Asked us if we heard the whispers, Initially concerned we used an item to detect the undead but it didn’t warn us of anything. We chucked up Petros’s mutterings of whispers as just stress-induced hallucinations…. Or perhaps we knew something was off be we were to drunk on the prospect of discovering something no else had. --Did this Petros die? The person you described isn’t among the survivors when we rescued you--

It’d be a kinder fate for him to be dead….. What he endures now is something that make my very soul quiver no one should or suffered what he did…. No one and my soul will burn in the hells for it. Explain We had set up camp to wait for rescue taking not of everything we had discovered, Petros had not touched anything since we entered, one of the researchers holding an odd gold disk with a pearl in the center insisted that Petros examine it. Petros refused saying he didn’t have a good feeling, I swear as saw the spine on his arm move towards the disk I should have stopped it… gods Why didn’t I stop it…..If I had! Sir Please, what happened? It was the white sand and strokes the disk still had some in it, The professor pushed the disk into Petros's hand the moment it the was when the horror started. The poor Gensai screamed in terror as he threw the disk down and backed away from us, the dust and stone clung to his skin and to our horror began to spread and grow on the poor boy. … It was horrific, all the sand and stones in the necropolis began to converge towards him consuming him in a small hurricane. We realized then it was not sand or stone at all….(gag) It was bones all of it was bones, I know not what curse was placed upon the remain in that befouled necropolis but the sand harbored such twisted feelings of obsessions and hunger it made the very air hard to breathe. Petros screams were short, he tried too break out of the Hurricane but each time we saw him burst out the bones covered him more and more even the fossils on his body seemed ro grow bigger ins shift to retrain him. In seconds, the hurricane shrunk onto the Genasi and only his bone-encased body remained. We thought he was dead it looked as if the bones had melted onto him.

Are you saying- Yes, it didn’t end there before we knew it all the fossils that were on his body began to GROW Out of him, Muffled wails of pain came from Petros as his encasing of bones grew and morphed before our eyes I could not imagine the pain…I Still hear it now… that miserable muffled scream. The Bones grew and grew fusing and meshing together into an amalgamated mayhem of bones, I don’t know what poor Petros become even seeing the bones move and change still our detection Items didn’t detect the undead, but I can only describe the twisted monster that formed before us as an embodiment of death. Soon to my terror in the holes on the main ‘Skull’ of the monster that grew from Petros appeared Green eyes just like his…. I do not know if any part of Petros remains within that ‘thing’..... I like to think so that whatever small part of him remained allowed us to survive. So the monster we encountered used to be a regular Genasi…. That is unfortunate. Thank for the information, we’ll escort to the nearest town and hopefully the monster will b- The rooms begin to RUMBLE What?! Gods it cannot be! The last thing the two see is the floor beneath crack and collapse to the open jaws of Malformed bone. Their screams were silenced by gut-wrenching CRUNCH
