Innate Spellcasting: The Bagspawn's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 11). It can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
At-will: Mage Hand, Prestidigitation
1/day each: Identify, Mending
Item Sense: The Bagspawn has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks to find hidden objects or creatures within a Bag of Holding it inhabits.
Nimble Escape: The Bagspawn can take the Disengage or Hide action as a bonus action on each of its turns.
Tiny Dagger: Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d4 + 2) piercing damage.
Pocket Magic: Bagspawn can perform one minor magical effect as an action. This can include things like temporarily enlarging or shrinking an item in the bag, creating a small illusionary object, or repairing a tiny tear in the fabric of the bag. The effect should be no more powerful than a typical cantrip.

Description
Origins
In a parallel plane that intersects with the extradimensional spaces created by Bags of Holding, the Bagspawn were born. They're thought to be the children of accidental magic, a side effect of the numerous spells and items thrown carelessly into Bags of Holding over the millennia. Bagspawn are tiny, mischievous creatures, no bigger than a human thumb, that have evolved to survive and thrive in these miniature pocket dimensions.
Physiology and Behavior
Bagspawn resemble miniature humanoids but often have exaggerated features like large eyes to see in the dim, extradimensional light, and oversized hands and feet for scurrying and climbing over stashed items. Their bodies are somewhat amorphous, allowing them to squeeze through small openings or even momentarily "melt" into a puddle of goo to avoid detection or harm. Bagspawn are naturally curious and are drawn to shiny objects, magical artifacts, and the random detritus that tends to accumulate in Bags of Holding.
Bagspawn are not inherently evil, but they can be territorial and protective of their "hoard." They organize themselves into small communities, often led by the oldest or wisest Bagspawn, who they dub the "Bag Master." These communities have their own complex social rituals, often involving the trading and gifting of "shinies" — their term for any intriguing items they find in their extradimensional homes.
The Ecosystem of the Bag
Bagspawn eat, sleep, and reproduce within the Bag, making them entirely self-sufficient. Their diet consists of leftover crumbs, spoiled food, and the magical essence that seeps from stored artifacts. Despite their small size, they are surprisingly resilient and have a lifespan of several decades.
In rare cases, Bagspawn form symbiotic relationships with the owners of the Bags of Holding they inhabit. They might sort items, moving less important objects to the bottom and more frequently used items to the top, in exchange for food or small trinkets.
Discovering Bagspawn
Most adventurers remain blissfully unaware of their bag's tiny inhabitants. However, those who leave food in their bags might notice that it disappears or is nibbled on, and particularly perceptive adventurers might even notice that their items have been subtly rearranged.
Should an adventurer discover their presence (perhaps through the use of a Detect Life or similar spell), Bagspawn can become useful allies. They are naturally adept at finding things and could retrieve an item from the depths of the bag as a Bonus Action. They can also "sense" the presence of new objects placed within the bag and can provide a rudimentary identification of magical items, though their knowledge is limited by their lack of formal education.
Role in Adventures
Bagspawn can serve as a delightful surprise, an ongoing mystery, or even as quest-givers. Perhaps a Bagspawn community is threatened by a tear in the extradimensional fabric and seeks the adventurers' help. Or perhaps they've found an ancient artifact in the depths of their bag-home and offer it in exchange for a supply of "shinies."
While not powerful in the conventional sense, Bagspawn have their own form of "pocket magic," which allows them to perform minor magical tasks, like mending small tears in the bag's fabric or momentarily enlarging an item stored within it.
Threats and Enemies
Not all Bags of Holding are peaceful homes for Bagspawn. Some are invaded by extradimensional parasites, predatory creatures that slip through planar boundaries. Adventurers may find that they have a vested interest in keeping their Bagspawn safe, lest their Bags of Holding become inhospitable or even dangerous places to store items.
