Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If the blightweaver fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Magic Resistance. The blightweaver has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Rejuvenation. If it has a phylactery, a destroyed blightweaver gains a new body in 1d10 days, regaining all its hit points and becoming active again. The new body appears within 5 feet of the phylactery.
Spellcasting. The blightweaver's spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 18, +10 to hit with spell attacks). It can cast the following spells, requiring no material components:
At will: druidcraft, speak with animals
3/day each: blight, dispel magic, counterspell, contagion, speak with plants
1/day each: flesh to stone, wall of thorns, insect plague
Turn Resistance. The blightweaver has advantage on saving throws against any effect that turns undead.
Multiattack. The blightweaver makes three attacks.
Poisonous Touch. Melee Spell Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (3d6+5) poison damage.
Wither. Ranged Spell Attack: +10 to hit, range 60 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (4d6+5) necrotic damage.
The blightweaver can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. The lich regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Attack. The blightweaver makes a Poisonous Touch or Wither attack.
Plant Stride. The blightweaver spends 5 feet of movement to dissolve its current form and regrow it in an unoccupied space within 30 feet that it can see. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks.
Sacrificial Lamb (Costs 2 Actions). If the blightweaver currently has an undead shambling mound or skeletal brown bear summoned, the blightweaver can choose to reduce the summoned creature to 0 hit points and then regain 14 (2d8 + 5) hit points.
Lair and Lair Actions
When fighting inside its lair, the blightweaver can invoke the magic within to take lair actions. On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), the blightweaver can take a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the blightweaver can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:
- The blightweaver commands the might of its diseased grove, creating an undead shambling mound. The undead shambling mound appears in an unoccupied space within 30 feet of the blightweaver, acts on its own initiative count, and obeys the blightweaver's commands. The undead shambling mound dies after 1 hour or when the blightweaver uses this lair action again.
- Thorny vines uproot and cover the floor in a 20-foot radius centered on a point on the ground that the blightweaver can see within 120 feet of it. All creatures not friendly to the blightweaver take (1d6) piercing damage for every 5 feet they travel. Additionally, the ground is difficult terrain. This effect lasts until initiative count 20 on the next round.
- Poisonous spores fill a 10-foot cube that the blightweaver can see within 120 feet of it. Any creature that enters the cloud for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned until the end of its next turn. The cloud lasts for 1 minute or until it is dispersed by a strong wind.
- The blightweaver calls on those who feed it, summoning a skeletal brown bear (see brown bear and add vulnerability to bludgeoning damage, as well as immunity to poison damage, poisoned and exhaustion). The skeletal brown bear appears in an unoccupied space within 30 feet of the lichen, acts on its own initiative count, and obeys the blightweaver's commands. The skeletal brown bear dies after 1 hour or when the blightweaver uses this lair action again.
