Traits

Reckless. At the start of its turn, the coroner can gain advantage on all melee weapon attack rolls during that turn, but attack rolls against it have advantage until the start of its next turn.

Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces the mortician to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, the zombie drops to 1 hit point instead.

Actions

Multiattack. The Undead Coroner makes two attacks with its Giant Cleaver

Giant Cleaver. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (1d10 + 3) slashing damage.

Vomit Pestilence (Recharge 6). The Coroner vomits forth the leeches, stinging insects, and other swamp vermin infesting its innards in a 15-foot cone. Each creature in the area must make a DC 13 Dexterity saving throw. On a failure, a creature takes 7 (2d6) piercing damage and and 7 (2d6) poison damage and is poisoned for 1 minute. On a success, a creature takes half the damage and isn’t poisoned. A poisoned creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Description

With a grotesque, hollowed body wrapped in tattered remnants of its coroner uniform, this macabre figure shambles forth with an eerie grace. The Undead Coroner is a horrifying fusion of the once-respected caretaker of the dead and the insidious power of necromantic magic. Clutched in its cold, skeletal hand is a giant cleaver, stained with the ichor and remains of its previous harvests. From its maw, a repulsive stench betrays its ability to spew forth a torrent of pestilence, a vile weapon that corrupts the very essence of life. It seems drawn to the dead like a moth to flame, collecting bodies not for preparation or burial, but for some dark, unimaginable purpose.
