Description
Arachgith are horrifying creatures, A mixture between a Githyanki and a spider, very similar in appearance to that of a drider. Sporting from the waist above a slightly darkened Githyanki torso, and below stands a massive body of a spider.
Spoils of War. On rare occasions, be it due to the ambitions of a drow or a great opportunity, a drow may attempt to raid and steal Githyanki eggs from its hatchery. Returning the eggs to incubate in their cities. Githyanki eggs hatched in drow care are born Arachgiths. Blessed or cursed by Lolth at birth.
Crowned Soldiers. Arachgiths are a rare sight, seeing so much as one guarding a house is a symbol of grand status, showing the skill and devotion of the house, not only to preform such a dangerous task, but that it gained Lolth's attention. Arachgith's are most commonly used as guards for high ranking drow. However they can also be seen trained for capturing in raids, and ironically, are often used to raid Githyanki eggs.
The First. It was said that many years ago, a drow favored by Lolth named Drimzol returned from a long adventure with new clerics, many slaves and a puzzling offering, a single Githyanki egg. The egg was offered to Lolth, to be a vessel for her power, a vessel that may be walking weapons of the queen. The egg eventually hatched, revealing itself to be transformed by Lolth. The first Arachgith was born. Drimzol is said to have joined Lolth in the demonweb pits after its hatching.
