Vandar's Champion has skin made of embers. Prolonged contact result in a burn. Take 6 (1d10) fire damage for each round grappled.

Actions

Multiattack. The monster makes three attacks: either one with its bite or tail and two with its claws.

Venom Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 8 ft., one target. Hit: 22 (4d10) piercing damage and the target must make a DC 8 Constitution saving throw, taking 5 (2d4) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one

Scratch. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 12 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (3d6 + 4) slashing damage

Poison sting. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 17 (3d10 + 3) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw, taking 22 (4d10) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one

Breath Weapon (Recharge 5–6).  Vandar's Whisper. The dragon exhales poison gas in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 14 Dexterity saving throw, taking 42 (12d6) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Reactions

Constrict. Vandar's champion can use its reaction to wrap its tail around its opponent. 

Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 15 (3d6 + 4) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 18). Until this grapple ends, the creature is restrained and the Champion can't constrict another target.

 

Legendary Actions

Mental Invasion. If contact in made forehead to forehead an opponent must succeed on a DC 22 constitution saving throw to avoid his mental invasion. Upon failure the Champion and his target are paralyzed until the Champion's next turn. During this turn the Champion can communicate through imagery.

Description

Vandar's Champion is a grotesque version of a black dragon. His joints have been warped and twisted into a monstrosity. He has the face of a lion with horrible, blackened fangs. His skin smolders like it is made of dying coals. There are deep scars on his spine where wings may have once been. His tail is long and curled, with a stinger the size of a dagger. His claws are curled inwards and drip a toxic yellow ooze. He smells of burning flesh and of a necrotic dark magic.
