Tunneler. The worm can burrow through solid rock at half its burrow speed and leaves a 10-foot-diameter tunnel in its wake.
Segmented. When a worm that is Large or larger is subjected to slashing damage, it splits into two worms if it has 15 or more hit points remaining. Each new worm has half the original worm's remaining hit points, rounded down, and is one size smaller than the original worm. A Medium worm loses its immunity to slashing damage.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 21 (4d6 + 7) piercing damage. If the target is a creature at least two sizes smaller than the worm, it must succeed on a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw or be swallowed by it. A swallowed creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the worm, and it takes 14 (4d6) acid damage at the start of each of the worm's turns.
If the worm takes 25 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside it, the worm must succeed on a DC 19 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate all swallowed creatures, which fall prone in a space within 10 feet of the worm. If the worm dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse by using 20 feet of movement, exiting prone.
Description
Deep in the furthest reaches of the Underdark, some worms grow to phenomenal size. These greater earthworms leave behind tunnels frequently used by smaller creatures as burrows, since it is unlikely that the worm will visit them twice.
If the worm manages to survive the perils of the Underdark, it can continue to grow and reach gargantuan proportions, rivalling even Purple worms for domination over the underground tunnels.
