Legendary Resistances (5/Day) If Yveltal fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

Turn and Warding Immunity Yveltal is immune to effects that turn undead, or prevent undead from entering an area.

Oblivion Incarnate.  Master of the Oblivion Plane and it's death magic, any necrotic damage dealt by attacks Yveltal makes, or his lair actions, ignores both immunity and resistances to necrotic damage, and if Yveltal delivers a killing blow to a living creature, he regains hitpoints equal to that creature's CR or level (whichever is higher) multiplied by that creature's Constitution modifier. That creature's soul also becomes trapped within the Oblivion Plane, and cannot leave by any means short of the Wish spell, even if revived.

Death Cannot Die (Mythic Trait, Once Per Long Rest). If Yveltal is in possession of the Dark Plate and he is reduced to 0 hit points, he uses the power of the dark plate to restore himself. Using it's power, he unleashes an unholy nova of death. Every living creature within a 90ft radius of him must make a DC 25 Constitution saving throw or take 10d6+15 necrotic damage, half as much on a success. The Dark Plate then loses it's power till the next midnight, and Yu regains a number of hit points equal to the total damage dealt. His mythic traits are active for one hour.

Flyby Yveltal does not provoke opportunity attacks with his flying speed

Actions

Foul Play Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 15 ft., 1 target. Hit: The target takes a number of d6s of necrotic damage equal to their Strength modifier, and a number of d4s of bludgeoning damage equal to their proficiency bonus.

Oblivion Wing Ranged Weapon Attack: +16 to hit, range 150/600 ft., 1 target. Hit: 35 (5d6 + 15) necrotic damage, and Yveltal heals hit points equal to the rolled necrotic damage, not including the bonus 15 damage.

Hurricane Ranged Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, range 60/240 ft., 1 target. Hit: 33 (11d4 + 11) slashing damage. The target then makes a DC 23 Constitution saving throw, and on a failure it can't take a reaction until the end of its next turn. Moreover, on its next turn, it must choose whether it gets a move, an action, or a bonus action; it gets only one of the three.

Sky Attack Melee Weapon Attack: +14 to hit, reach 15 ft., 1 target. Hit: 48 (8d10) bludgeoning damage.

Legendary Actions

Yveltal has four legendary actions, which he can take at the end of any turn other than his own, regaining all uses at the start of his turn.

Move (Costs 1 Actions). Yveltal flies up to his speed

Batter And Beat (Costs 1 Action) Yveltal flaps his wings with excessive force, causing each creature in a 15ft wide, 60ft tall, 100ft long line to make a DC 23 Strength saving throw or be pushed 15ft back, taking 12 (4d4) bludgeoning damage if they collide with an obstacle.

Call Upon Souls (Costs 2 Actions, Once per day) Unleashing a cry of rage, Yveltal summons forth some of the souls trapped in his prison of Oblivion, summoning 2d4 Specters, or 1d4 wraiths/ghosts in any combination. Yveltal cannot use this legendary action until all previous creatures summoned by it have died.

Mythic Actions

If Yveltal's Mythic trait is active, he can use the following mythic actions at the start of any turn other than his own. He has two mythic actions that he regains at the end of his turn.

Move (Costs 1 Actions). Yveltal flies up to his speed

Oblivion Wing (Costs 2 Actions). Yveltal uses his Oblivion Wing

Consume Souls (Costs 2 Action) Yveltal consumes the ambient souls in Oblivion, regaining 20 (5d6) hit points.

Description

Yveltal is a large Pokémon with both avian and draconic traits. The back of its body is black with white spots along the wings and back; its front, head, and neck are bright red with branching, black lines throughout. It has a pointed, beak-like snout, bright blue eyes, a black, forward-curving horn over each eye, and a thin, antenna-like growth behind each eye. A feathery gray ruff encircles its neck and billows out over its back. Yveltal's wings each have three spikes along the bottom edge near the body and five large, black claws on the tip. It has small, birdlike legs with gray talons. Each foot has two toes facing forward and one pointing backward. Its tail is similar in structure to its wings, including the five claws on the tip.

Yveltal has the power to absorb life energy by spreading its wings and tailfeathers. According to legend, Yveltal does this in order to power up its own energy. It is highly feared by the ancient people of Kalos because of this. It is known to appear during the conflict, draining countless people and Pokémon that Yveltal encounters. When it reaches the end of its lifespan, it steals the life energy of everything around it and then transforms into a cocoon to sleep. Yveltal along with Xerneas have the power to transform Evolution stones into Mega Stones. Both are in charge of taking care of the land in a delicate balance between life and death.

Lair and Lair Actions

Lair Actions

Each round on initiative 20 (losing ties) Yveltal can create one of the following effects, but cannot pick the same effect two rounds in a row.

  • A Prison Foreboding Death Two creatures of Yveltal's choice must make a DC 23 Strength saving throw. On a failure, they are incapacitated and restrained until the end of their next turn, as prison bars of Oblivion wrap around them. While they are effected this way, the memories of every death the effected creature has witnessed replays in their mind. On a success, they manage to break free of the bars when they appear, and are unaffected.
  • Endless Darkness Consumes Life Each creature hostile to Yveltal that is in the lair takes 6 (2d4) necrotic damage, and has their maximum hit points reduced by the same amount until the end of a long rest.

Regional Effects

The Plane of Oblivion that Yveltal resides inside has the following effects:

  • Bright light cannot be created by any non-magical means, nor can sunlight.
  • Creatures and objects do not fall if left in the air.

If Yveltal dies, these effects fade over the course of 3d4 days.
