Traits

Undead Fortitude. If damage reduces the ash man to 0 hit points, it must make a Constitution saving throw with a DC of 5 + the damage taken, unless the damage is radiant or from a critical hit. On a success, the ash man drops to 1 hit point instead.

Silent Foe. While in areas coated with the remains of burned things, ash men leave no tracks, and their footsteps are soundless. They frequently use this (and their superior intellect compared to other undead) to stage ambushes, looking like terrified humanoids that were turned to stone, or statues.

Actions

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d8 + 1) bludgeoning damage.

Crush. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 4 (1d6 + 1) bludgeoning damage, and the target is grappled (escape DC 11). If the ash man already has the target grappled, this attack hits automatically.

Description

While the empty look in their eyes and evil aura denote them as undead, these well-preserved corpses carry themselves with more dignity and act with more intelligence than regular zombies, as if some of their humanity remains.
