Envenomation: Every time the basilisk makes a bite attack, the creature suffers 2d8 poison damage and must make 15 DC Con save against being poisoned.
The poison is not removed until cured or 48 hours have passed.
Corrosive Scales: The basilisk's skin is toxic to touch. If any creature touches the basilisk, it takes 2d6 acid damage.
When a creature makes a weapon attack against the basilisk, the weapon must survive a DC 15 save against corrosion. If failed, the weapon corrodes and is blunt. The weapon does not need to make a save if it has a fire enchantment.
The basilisk also has a +3 to AC (acid armor) unless the weapon succeeds in its save, has corrosion resistance, or has a fire enchantment.
Deadly Gaze: If a creature starts its turn within 30 feet of the basilisk and the two of them can see each other, the basilisk can force the creature to make a DC 12 Constitution saving throw if the basilisk isn't incapacitated. On a failed save, the creature's life begins to fade, and it takes 3d10 necrotic damage. This damage cannot be healed until after a curse removal spell, such as remove curse, or by a short/long rest.
A creature that isn't surprised can avert its eyes to avoid the saving throw at the start of its turn. If it does so, it can't see the basilisk until the start of its next turn, when it can avert its eyes again.
If it looks at the basilisk in the meantime, it must immediately make the save.
Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft, 1 target. Hit: 8 (2d6 + 2) piercing damage.
Fire Spit: The basilisk spews fire in a 10-foot line. Each creature in that area must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, taking 11 (2d10) fire damage on a failed save, or no damage on a successful one.
Description
The basilisk, the "little king", is amongst the rarest of creatures, due to the fact that it is born by the egg of a serpent hatched by a chicken. Their rarity is quite fortunate, for it is most defiantly the deadliest of serpents. The basilisk is famed for being toxic in three different ways, its venomous bite, its corrosive skin, and its deadly glare. As if this creature wasn't deadly enough, it is also capable of igniting its highly flammable venom, allowing it to breath fire. It lives mostly in swampland, hiding from the outside world, but if you would cross its path, it would not hesitate to strike. It is one of the most aggressive beasts alive, and they can live for hundreds of years, always growing in size. Though what size they can reach is unknown to most.
