Description

Aureus Flugen

His Grand Majesty

Proud, ancient and disciplined, the Azhurma of the Flugen brood lives to ponder on the best way to create a perfect society. Dedicating his every effort to the continuous testing and improvement of his greatest creation: The Golden City, the pinnacle of the draconic order and civilization, and living proof of his undeniable right to lead all of the dragonkind to an eternity of perfect order and progress.

Given to both order and constant intrigue, Aureus finds great pleasure in testing the prowess of his rivals -for he has "no real enemies"- and even finds ways to further some of their plans as often as he thwarts others. his golden city is a clear portrait of Aureus' creed, inquestionable leadership and his true nature as the perfect entity; ever-adapting, always challenging, forever triumphant... and recipient of all power.

Lair and Lair Actions

Aureus has built a magnificent metropolis in the heart of Drakha, which he calls the golden city in his own honor. There, his will is absolute and his law is unqestioned. All citizens of the golden city - humans, dragonkin, or other races - have the right to live in peace under Aureus' law.

Lair Actions

On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Aureus may take a lair action to cause one of the following effects.

  • Aureus selects one school of spells. Spells of that school cannot be cast within sight of him during this round.
  • Citizens of the Golden city point at a creature of Aureus' choice and declare the target an enemy, guilty of disturbing the peace of his kingdom. The chosen target must succeed at a DC 24 Charisma saving throw or take 44 (8d8) psychic damage.
  • Any creature that can see or hear Aureus must succeed at a DC 24 Charisma saving throw or be affected by [/spell]Dominate Person[spell] for the rest of this round. Aureus cannot use this lair action during two consecutive rounds.

Regional Effects

The region around the Golden city is a realm of peace, order and stability. For thousands of years there has been on street crime, external raids, random attacks, lawbreaking, or civil unrest in the area. If Aureus dies, these effects fade over the course of 1d4 weeks.
