Multiattack. The dragon bear makes three attacks: one with its bite and two with each of its claws.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d10 + 5) piercing damage plus 5 (1d10) lightning damage.

Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (2d6 + 5) slashing damage.

Lightning Breath (Recharge 3–4). The dragon exhales lightning in an 60-foot line that is 5 feet wide. Each creature in that line must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, taking 55 (10d10) lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Description

A large Dragon like creature with the wings and tail of a dragon, but with segmented fur instead of scales and the face of a bear.  In this case it also has the ability to breath dragon breath based on the color, like a dragon.  However, upon its death, the dragon bear transforms into a lifeless humanoid devoid of specific features, like a shapeshifter.

Lair and Lair Actions

Dragon Bear Hug (optional) If both claws hit a single target, the dragon bear can also hug the target as a bonus action. The target must make a strength saving throw DC 15.  On a miss the dragon bear hug inflicts 19 (2d10+10) half bludgeoning damage/half lightning damage. Half damage on a successful save.  No hit roll is required.  In addition, the dragon bear can choose to complete the bear hug with a full grapple on any target that fails the strength check.  A bear dragon outside of it's lair is significantly less likely to attempt a bear hug as a grapple could make it vulnerable to other enemies in the open.

Lair Protector If the Dragon Bear is Encountered in its lair it has advantage on Perception checks the rely on smell, sight, or hearing.  A Dragon Bear cannot be surprised in it's own lair.
