Traits

Descent of the Moon (Mythic Trait; Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). If Gabriel is reduced to 0 hit points, he doesn’t die or fall unconscious. Instead, he regains 25 hit points and gains 100 temporary hit points. For as long as Gabriel has temporary hit points from this feature a large illusory moon appears at a high point above him. The moon starts in the new moon phase, and at the start of each of his subsequent turns it advances forward one phase (waxing crescent, first quarter, waxing gibbous, and full moon).

During the New Moon phase, Gabriel can have no more than one instance of Moonbeam active, even with Descent. For each phase after new moon Gabriel can have on additional instance of Moonbeam active. When Gabriel reaches full moon all instances of Moonbeam are dispelled, and instead Gabriel gains Lunar Ruin.

Magic Resistance. Gabriel has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

Legendary Resistance (3/Day). If Gabriel fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.

Spellcasting. Gabriel can cast one of the following spells, requiring no material components and using Charisma as the spellcasting ability (spell save DC 20):

At will: Zone of Truth, Detect Magic

3/day each: Guardian of Faith, Remove Curse BanishmentDispel Magic

1/day each: Greater Restoration

Lunar Ruin (Full Moon Phase Only). An aura of pale light shines from Gabriel in a 60-foot radius. When a creature enters the aura's radius for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, it is overwhelmed with spectral flame, and it must make a DC 20 Constitution saving throw. It takes 16 (3d10) radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Actions

Multiattack. Gabriel makes an attack with bolt and uses his horn.

Bolt. Ranged Spell Attack: +12 to hit, range 120 ft., one target. Hit: 24 (7d6) damage of one of the following types (Gabriel’s choice): acidcoldfireforcelightningradiant, or thunder.

Horn of Lunia. Gabriel sounds a call with his horn. Every creature of Gabriel's choice within 300 feet of him is affected by one of the following effects:

  • Heavenly Smite. All creatures in range are marked to be smited by the heavens, and must make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 9 (2d8) radiant damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
  • Stunning Screech (Recharge 5-6). All creatures in range that can hear the horn must succeed on a DC 20 Constitution saving throw or be Stunned until the start of Gabriel's next turn.. Creatures can use their reaction to block their ears with their hands to prevent this effect, but for the duration will not be able to use their hands for any other action.
  • Hypnotizing Call (Recharge 5-6). Creatures in range that can hear the call must succeed on a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw or become charmed until the noise stops. Gabriel must take an action on its subsequent turns to continue using the horn. It can stop at any time. The song ends if Gabriel is incapacitated.

While charmed by Gabriel, a target is incapacitated. If the charmed target is more than 5 feet away from Gabriel, the target must move on its turn toward Gabriel by the most direct route, trying to get within 5 feet. It doesn't avoid opportunity attacks, but before moving into damaging terrain, such as lava or a pit, and whenever it takes damage from a source other than Gabriel, the target can repeat the saving throw. A charmed target can also repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns. If the saving throw is successful, the effect ends on it.

Teleport. Gabriel magically teleports, along with any equipment he is wearing or carrying, up to 60 feet to an unoccupied space he can see.

Bonus Actions

Book of Lunar Sanctity (Recharge 3-6). Gabriel chants an incantation from the book summoning a lunar cross; a hovering blue cross made of magic that can be controlled by Gabriel as part of his turn. They use the Flying Sword monster sheet. Gabriel can't have more than six crosses summoned at one time.

Reactions

Lunar Cross Defense. As a reaction to being targeted by an attack, Gabriel commands all lunar crosses within 10 feet of him to protect him. Gabriel's AC increases by 1 for each lunar cross within range. This lasts until the start of his next turn. If a cross is destroyed then he loses the benefit of their protection.

Legendary Actions

Gabriel can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Gabriel regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.

Holy Magic (Costs 2 Actions). Gabriel uses Spellcasting or Teleport.

Attack. Gabriel makes one Bolt attack.

Mythic Actions

If Gabriel’s mythic trait is active, he can use the options below as legendary actions, as long as he has temporary hit points from his Descent of the Moon.

Wandering Star. Gabriel moves all beams created by Moonbeam up to 30 feet in a straight line. Creatures caught in it's path while moving must make saves to avoid it.

Descent (Costs 2 Actions). Gabriel casts Moonbeam at 2nd level. Casting Moonbeam in this way does not require concentration.
