Traits

Keen Sight and Smell. The owlbear has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight or smell.

Needs a Mama.  If no adult Owlbear is within view of the Baby Owlbear, it will attempt to bond with anyone within 20' of it.  If the target has already bonded with a Baby Owlbear, other Baby Owlbears will automatically bond with the already bonded target.  Otherwise, targets must make a Charisma save of DC 10 to avoid the bond.  If there are multiple possible targets, the target with the largest failure becomes bonded.  The baby owlbear will not attack the bonded target.  The bonded target can Coup-de-Grace the baby owlbear as a standard action.

Training.  You can train a baby owlbear with a DC 13 Animal Handling skill check.

Pretend to Hunt.  Baby Owlbears are not naturally aggressive, but are violently playful.  An untrained baby owlbear will randomly attack targets 10% of the time.

Always Hungry.  A baby owlbear that has not been fed in the last hour will attack the weakest looking target until properly fed.

Actions

Multiattack. The owlbear makes two attacks: one with its beak and one with its claws.

Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 6 (1d8 + 2) piercing damage.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (2d6 + 2) slashing damage.
