Fiendish Invisibility. As a bonus action, the Bag Imp can turn invisible until it attacks or casts a spell, or until its concentration ends (as if concentrating on a spell). Any equipment the Bag Imp is wearing or carrying is invisible with it.
Bag Dweller. The Bag Imp can squeeze into and inhabit a Bag of Holding, Heward's Handy Haversack, or similar magical container without displacing its contents. While inside, it can see and hear what happens outside the container. The Bag Imp cannot be harmed or removed from the container while it is in this state.
Thieving Mischief. If a Bag Imp inhabits a Bag of Holding for at least 1 hour, it can attempt to steal an item from the bag's contents. The Bag Imp makes a Sleight of Hand check contested by the bag's owner's Wisdom (Perception) check. On a success, the Bag Imp takes one item of its choice from the bag without the owner's knowledge. The stolen item is placed in a hidden pocket dimension accessible only to the Bag Imp. The owner becomes aware of the theft if they inspect their bag and succeed on a Wisdom (Perception) check, but locating the hidden pocket dimension requires a successful Intelligence (Investigation) check. The Bag Imp can carry up to five stolen items in this manner.
Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 5 (1d4 + 3) slashing damage.
Invisibility (Recharge 5-6). The Bag Imp turns invisible, following the same rules as its Fiendish Invisibility trait.
Dimensional Flee. The Bag Imp uses its innate teleportation magic to leave its current Bag of Holding or similar container. It appears in an unoccupied space within 30 feet of the container.
The Bag imp will attempt to flee if found taking it's stolen items with it.
Description
Bag Imps are tiny, mischievous fiends that inhabit Bags of Holding and similar magical containers. They are notorious for their cunning thefts, pilfering items from the bags they inhabit and leaving their owners baffled. These imps delight in their thieving pranks and often cause frustration among adventurers.
When a Bag Imp chooses a target, it typically spends hours or even days within their Bag of Holding, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Once it successfully steals an item, it retreats to its hidden pocket dimension within the bag, making detection challenging.
Bag Imps are chaotic creatures and may steal anything from valuable artifacts to mundane objects, purely for their own amusement. Dealing with a Bag Imp can be a humorous yet vexing challenge for adventurers, and retrieving stolen items may require careful investigation and negotiation.
They can be encountered in places where Bags of Holding are common, such as dungeons, treasure hoards, or among merchants dealing in magical items. Players should be wary when entrusting their belongings to such magical containers, as Bag Imps are always on the lookout for their next opportunity to steal.
