Regeneration. Astarion regains 10 hit points at the start of his turn if he has at least 1 hit point and isn't in sunlight or running water. If Astarion takes radiant damage or damage from holy water, this trait doesn't function at the start of Astarion's next turn.
Spider Climb. Astarion can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Evasion. If subjected to an effect that allows Astarion to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, he instead takes no damage on a success and half damage on a failure.
Vampire Weaknesses. Astarion has the following flaws:
Forbiddance. Astarion can't enter a residence without an invitation from one of the occupants.
Harmed by Running Water. Astarion takes 20 acid damage when he ends its turn in running water.
Stake to the Heart. Astarion is destroyed if a piercing weapon made of wood is driven into his heart while it is incapacitated in his resting place.
Sunlight Hypersensitivity. Astarion takes 20 radiant damage when he starts his turn in sunlight. While in sunlight, he has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.
Multiattack. Astarion makes two attacks, only one of which can be a bite attack.
Shortsword. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) piercing damage plus 3 (1d6) poison damage.
Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 8 (2d4 + 3) slashing damage. Instead of dealing damage, Astarion can grapple the target (escape DC 13).
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one willing creature, or a creature that is grappled by the vampire, incapacitated, or restrained. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) piercing damage plus 7 (2d6) necrotic damage. The target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken, and Astarion regains hit points equal to that amount. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.
Cunning Action. Astarion can take a bonus action on each of his turns in combat to take the Dash, Disengage, or Hide action.
Uncanny Dodge. When an attacker Astarion can see hits him with an attack, he can use his reaction to halve the attack's damage against him.
Description
Astarion, a vampire spawn from Baldur's Gate, is a charismatic and cunning rogue marked by both the allure of the night and the shadowy art of deception. Once a dashing noble, his fate took a dark turn when he crossed paths with the powerful vampire lord Cazador, who bestowed upon him the cursed gift of vampirism. Astarion's existence is a delicate balance between his insatiable thirst for blood and his penchant for skulking in the shadows, using his vampiric abilities and rogue skills to navigate the treacherous landscapes of both the mortal and undead realms. Haunted by the harrowing memories of his transformation, Astarion's enigmatic allure conceals a tortured soul, torn between the predatory instincts of his vampiric nature and the echoes of the man he once was.
