Traits

Divine Rejuvenation. At the start of Aidelion's next turn after he drops to 0 hit points, he instantly enters his second form. Aidelion's initiative count doesn’t change.

Extreme Alertness. Aidelion adds twice his proficiency bonus to his initiative rolls.

Far Sight. Aidelion can see up to 1 mile away with no difficulty, able to discern even fine details as though looking at something no more than 100 feet away. Additionally, dim light doesn't impose disadvantage on his Wisdom (Perception) checks.

Instant Healing. Aidelion regains 3 hit points any time he takes damage, unless it reduces him to 0 hit points.

Actions

Multiattack. Aidelion makes two attacks with his Solar Spear, and shoots one Light Ray.

Light Ray. Ranged Attack Roll: +13 to hit, range 100 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (2d10 + 8) radiant damage.

Solar Spear. Melee Attack Roll: +14 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 16 (2d6 + 9) radiant damage, or 18 (2d8 + 9) radiant damage when used two-handed, plus 24 (7d6) fire damage. The weapon deals an additional 4 (1d8) radiant damage if the target is an undead.

Searing Sunburst (Recharge 5-6). Aidelion hurls an orb of burning radiance at a point he can see within 1 mile of him. Each creature in a 20-foot radius sphere of that point must make a DC 21 Constitution saving throw, taking 38 (7d10) radiant damage plus 28 (8d6) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. A creature doesn’t need to make the save if it is behind total cover that is opaque.

Spellcasting. Aidelion casts one of the following spells, requiring no verbal or material components and using Wisdom as the spellcasting ability (spell save DC 21, +13 to hit with spell attacks):

At Will: Daylight, Lesser Restoration, Mirror Image

2/Day Each: Heal, Mass Cure Wounds

1/Day Each: Crown of Stars (cast before combat), Resurrection (as an action)

Reactions

Legendary Resistance (2/Day in This Form). Trigger: Aidelion fails a saving throw. Response: Aidelion chooses to succeed instead.

Legendary Actions

Aidelion can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Aidelion regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Light Ray. Aidelion makes one Light Ray attack.

Blinding Flare (Costs 2 Actions). Each creature that is within 30 feet of Aidelion and can see him, must succeed on a DC 16 Constitution saving throw or be blinded until magic such as the Lesser Restoration spell removes the blindness. A creature that succeeds on its save is blinded until the end of its next turn.

Flash Step (Costs 3 Actions). Aidelion teleports to an unoccupied space he can see within 120 feet of him that isn't in darkness. Each creature within 10 feet of the space he left must succeed on a DC 21 Constitution saving throw or take 23 (2d10 + 12) radiant damage.

Description

Aidelion is the God that represents the Sun and all its glory in the Pantheon of Parsiphona. Standing at well over 14 feet tall, Aidelion is the pinnacle of beauty and power among all other Gods, with very few being able to match him, and even fewer being able to beat him. Widely regarded as the most prideful of all the Gods, if Aidelion is confident in battle he will purposely get hit and forgo using his spear in favor of unarmed strikes (attack described below). But if he is ever pressed or unsure in himself his smile will quickly fade, spear coming out just as fast, and he will go for the kill using anything that would give him an advantage such as a surprise attack.

Divine Pride. Aidelion believes himself to be the most powerful of the Gods of Parsiphona while the Sun is by his side. He is very overconfident and arrogant and would not believe himself to be capable of loss, but he is not stupid and would not underestimate an opponent that has proven themselves worthy in a bout.

Watcher. Aidelion rarely comes to the surface of Parsiphona, spending his days in the Golden Kingdom of Solaris and watching over the planet and all that the light of his Sun touches from his Kingdom. Only if asked directly by Symphonia or Cecilius, or if he sees a great danger happening on the surface of Parsiphona would he come charging in to fight.

Recent History.

In recent times the power struggle in the Pantheon had shifted, as the great king of the Gods, Cecilius has fallen in a coma, unknown if he will ever wake up, leading to Aidelion being crowned King and a lot of additional burden being placed on his shoulders. After his recent fight with the evil God Momon, Aidelion was permanently scarred both physically and mentally, his smile dwindled now being a rarity and his pride crushed leading to him almost never adopting his playful fighting style.

Battle Tactics.

If the players meet a version of Aidelion before it was scarred, or if the DM decides to lessen the intensity of the combat, Aidelion can use his Unarmed Strikes, which are magical, instead of his normal attacking options, making up to three Unarmed Strike attacks:

  • Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +13 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (2d10 + 8) bludgeoning damage.

Nowadays Aidelion would await for the party to approach him standing in his pillar of light in which he had cast Crown of Stars before the battle even begun. Even through scarred he is still extremely prideful not afraid to take hits thinking he could easily heal from them, but he would also attack ruthlessly using a combination of his magic and regural attacks leaving no time to breathe.

Aidelion's Traits.

Personality. "I am the greatest of all God's, all who dare challenge that idea would face my wrath"

Ideal. "Beauty. I wish for nothing more other than for everyone to see how beautiful they are and to reach the potential I can see they have"

Bond. "I will fight for my brothers and my fellow God's to the death, no matter what that means."

Flaw. "I am too overconfident. Believing myself to be the stronger and unkillable I blindly jump into any opportunity to prove how great I am."

Lair and Lair Actions

Aideion does technically have a domain, it being the Golden Kingdom of Solaris. A tiny island that orbits much closer to the Sun's surface, around only 10 million miles away from it, and rarely if ever does any creature reach his domain to fight him in it, nor does Aidelion expect anyone to do so as he believes himself to not need a domain to best anyone in a bought.

Regional Effects.

Whenever Aidelion descends onto the planet below for the first time a massive cone of sunlight appears, creating the following magical effects:

Perpetual Sunlight. The area within 2 miles of where Aidelion descended is locked in a perpetual state of a mid-summer day during high noon, regardless of what season or time of day it may be outside.

Overgrown Plants. All plant-life in the area within 4 miles of where Aidelion descended becomes thick and overgrown turning the area into Difficult Terrain.

Radiant Overload. All creatures in the area within 500 feet of where Aidelion descended that don't have resistantance or immuniny to radiant damage take 1 radiant damage for each minute they spend in the area.

If Aidelion leaves, or dies, all of these regional effects fade immediately.
