Legendary Resistance (2/Long Rest). If Xin Zhao fails a saving throw, he can choose to succeed instead.
Determination. Xin Zhao's attacks and Wind Becomes Lightning generate a stack of Determination, stacking up to 3 times. At 3 stacks Xin Zhao regains 11 (1d10 + 5) hitpoints and his next attack deals an extra 6 (1d10) piercing damage.
Petricite Armaments. Xin Zhao has resistance to damage from spells. Xin Zhao's weapon attacks count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistances.
Multiattack. Xin Zhao makes three Three-Talon Spear attacks.
Three-Talon Spear. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (1d10 + 5) piercing damage.
Wind Becomes Lightning (Recharge 4-6). Xin Zhao slashes in a 15-foot radius arc then thrusts his spear in a 20-foot long 10-foot wide line. Creatures in the radius and/or line must succeed a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw. The slash deals Three-Talon Spear's damage (11 (1d10 + 5) piercing damage) and the line deals 14 (3d6 + 2) lightning damage.
Crescent Guard (Recharge 6; 3/Short or Long Rest). Xin Zhao sweeps his spear with great effort around himself, creating a powerful shockwave. The shockwave has a 20-foot radius centered on Xin Zhao and lingers; Creatures in range must succeed a DC 18 Dexterity saving throw. Creatures take 35 (6d8 + 5) thunder damage. Additionally all creatures, except the Challenged, must succeed a DC 18 Strength saving throw or be pushed 20ft. away from Xin Zhao and land prone.
For the next 3 rounds, or until Crescent Guard recharges, Xin Zhao is immune to ranged weapon and spell attacks originating outside the 20-foot radius shockwave.
Second Wind (Recharges after a Short or Long Rest). Xin Zhao regains 30 hit points.
Challenge. Xin Zhao targets a single opponent. The target is not knocked back by Crescent Guard''s shockwave and can be targeted by Audacious Charge from an extra 10ft.. Only one creature can be challenged at a time.
Sentinel. When Xin Zhao hits a creature with an opportunity attack, the creature's speed becomes 0 for the rest of the turn.
Creatures provoke opportunity attacks from Xin Zhao even if they take the Disengage action before leaving his reach or have the Mobile Feat.
Xin Zhao can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature’s turn. Xin Zhao regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.
Pierce. Xin Zhao makes one Three-Talon Spear attack.
Audacious Charge. Xin Zhao dashes at a creature within 40ft. of him. Attacks of Opportunity triggered by this have disadvantage. If the target is a challenged opponent, Xin Zhao can roll to recharge Crescent Guard.
Three Talon Strike (Costs 2 Actions). Xin Zhao empowers three Three-Talon Spear hits to also shove a creature 10ft. and knock it prone.
Crouching Tiger (Costs 2 Actions). Attacks against Xin Zhao have disadvantage until the start of his next turn.
Soaring Dragon (Cost 3 Actions). Xin Zhao makes one attack against all creatures in range.

It was not until he faced the forces of King Jarvan III in battle that he decided to relinquish his past life, in favor of serving what he saw as a more honorable cause. Armed with his favored three-talon spear, Xin Zhao now fights for his adopted kingdom, audaciously challenging any foe, no matter the odds.
