Breath Strike. The Barthran, being a dragon relative, has no breath weapon of its own. However, most are classified as 5th level warlock spellcasters who's powers mostly exit from the mouth such as a breath weapon.
Spellcasting. The Barthran is a 5th level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is 16 (spell save DC +3, +3 to hit with spell attacks). The Barthran has following Warlock spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): Eldritch Blast, Frostbite, Lightning Lure
1st level : Hellish rebuke, Witch Bolt
2nd Level: Shatter
4th level: Sickening Radiance
Dash: Monster flees combat
Hide: Monster flees combat
Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 10 ft., 1 target. 3d8 Slashing damage.
Tail. RangedWeapon Attack: +2 to hit, range 18/18 ft., 1 target. 5d6 damage.
Mouth. melee weapon attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., 2 targets. 2d10 damage
The Barthran has a single legendary action called Vengeance's Grasp. This action has made the Barthran one of the most impressive and extraordinary creatures in existence
Vengeance's Grasp (Costs 1 Actions). On the point of death, the Barthran makes one final attack, charging its entire body with energy any creature it manages to touch within 30 seconds will be killed instantly, regardless of size, strength, constitution or max hp. At this time the Barthran will most likely go on a rampage and after this time, the Barthran will die.
Description
The Barthran is a beast of extraordinary strength and endurance. Around 50 ft in length and 16 ft in height, it is a heavily built pseudodragon whose physical strength is shadowed only by its magical power, equal to a level 5 warlock. It knows some select spells which all exit from its mouth, similar to the breath weapon of pure dragons. It is squat and muscly, more like a bear or crocodile than its leaner cousins.
Lair and Lair Actions
This creature has no lair and instead roams the countryside, occasionally settling down for a year or two. Ironically, it is a highly territorial beast that will defend its chosen patch.
