Treasure. Klarg has a treasure chest that contains 600 cp, 110 sp, and a jade statuette of a frog with tiny golden orbs for eyes (40 gp). The frog statuette is small enough to fit in a pocket or pouch. In addition, if Klarg has any remaining Potions of Healing of his two he had, the players can obtain that loot as well.

Javelin. Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft. or range 30/120 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage in melee or 6 (1d6 + 2) piercing damage at range.
Healing Potion. Klarg has two Potions of Healing. As a bonus action he may drink one potion, restoring 5 (2d4 + 2) health points.
Opportunity Attack. If a character moves out of melee range of Klarg he may use a Morning Star attack.
Klarg has 3 Legendary Action Charges
Frightful Roar (2 Charges). Each creature within a 60 foot radius of Klarg must make a Wisdom Saving throw (DC WIS 13) or be frightened of Klarg for 1 minute. A frightened creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Once the creature saves from this effect they are immune to being frightened by Klarg again.
Belch (2 Charges). Each creature in a 10 foot cone in front of Klarg must make a Constitution Saving throw (DC CON 13) or be poisoned for 1 minute. A poisoned creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
Ripper (1 Charge). Klarg can verbally command Ripper to take the Attack, Dash, Disengage, Dodge, or Help action.
Healing Potion (1 Charge). Klarg drinks one of his two Potions of Healing restoring 6 (2d4 + 2) health points.
Description
Bugbears are hairy goblinoids born for battle and mayhem. They survive by raiding and hunting, but are fond of setting ambushes and fleeing when outmatched.
(Creator's Note) I'm running Shattered Obelisk with a large party (7-9 players) so I needed Klarg to be a little more hearty and have some non-damaging Legendary Actions. My party would easily down Klarg in less than a round using just the Bugbear stat block; not much of an epic encounter. I would not recommend using this version for a standard 3-5 person party.
