Mimicry. The bird can mimic simple sounds it has heard, such as a person whispering, a baby crying, or an animal chittering. A creature that hears the sounds can tell they are imitations with a successful DC 10 Wisdom (Insight) check.
Magical Mimicry The bird had 2(1d4) memory slots in which it keeps the spells that it can cast. When the bird hears a spell being cast, it will remember the sounds made along with the materials and somatic components, provided it can see the spellcaster. It will then forget the oldest spell in its memory although it can be trained to remember.
Coincidental Spellcasting The bird's spellcasting ability is Wisdom(spell save DC 11). It can attempt to cast any spell that it remembers from the magical mimicry feature. It is a 9th level spellcaster. Any spell that it attempts to cast with a somatic component, the ritual tag or that requires concentration automatically fails. The bird cannot use a spellcasting focus but if it is holding the correct materials, can cast spells with material components. Otherwise the spell fails. The bird will repeat the exact words that it heard the caster say but will target whoever it chooses.
Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1 piercing damage.
Description
Arcane avian
Arcane avians are birds that, due to their exposure to magical forces have developed the ability to cast spell.
Essentially Avian The bird appears very similarly to its non-magical equivalent but may have some slight difference in appearance such as brightly coloured feathers, eyes or talons, a slight glow or an echoing voice. It also acts as a beast for the purposes of communication.
Training A creature can spend one hour teaching the bird to cast a spell that they know. Upon a successful Wisdom (Animal Handling) DC 10 check, with advantage if the teacher and bird are well acquainted or if the bird can understand the language of the teacher, the bird makes an Intelligence (Arcana) check DC (10 + 2 per level of spell being taught). On a success, it remembers this spell until another spell is taught to it. During this training the teacher must cast the spell 1d4 times while being observed by the bird. The bird may only permanently remember one spell at a time and this counts towards its memory slot capacity.
