Traits

Nether Born. The piglin brute is immune to the frightened condition, as well as immune to fire damage, but it is vulnerable to radiant damage due to its unholy blood.

Big Hands. Piglin Brute got big hands, it can hold weapons with the two-handed property in one hand.

Actions

Multiattack. The piglin brute makes two attacks with its gilded handaxe, each of these attacks can be replaced with its light crossbow.

Gilded Handaxe. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 7 (1d6 + 4) slashing damage.

Light Crossbow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, range 80/320 ft., 1 target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) piercing damage.

Brutal Attack (Recharge 4-6). The piglin brute makes one attack, either with its gilded handaxe or light crossbow, the attack deals an additional 8 (2d8) fire damage, and the target of the attack must make a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of the piglin brute for 1 minute.

Description

Wielding a gilded axe in one hand and a crossbow in the other, piglin brutes are known for their suicidal fighting style. Dying to protect their bastion and the gold within it. Although more "tame" piglins can be dissuaded from battle with some gold, piglin brutes see past the bribery, and ignore the gold, choosing to attack any foreign creatures on sight.

A Culture of Bloodshed. As the name can imply, piglin brutes are raised in a brutal culture, and taught not to fear death, for the fate of mercy is much worse than what death can bring. Any piglin born in a bastion has a chance to be raised as a brute, as about 50% of a bastion's population consists of these brutes. There is no recorded or official way these piglins know to raise an infant as either a brute or a citizen, the best answer that friendly piglins could answer is that it just feels like instinct to them.

Golden Sense. Despite holding no interest in bartering with gold, piglins, as well as brutes, have a sort of sixth sense that lets them sniff out any gold near them, around 60 feet to be specific.
