Description

(They look just like Ember from the War Dragons video game).

A kind of lesser firedrake, Emerspine Firedrakes are a unique species of firedrake that have the ability to evolve and give themselves more powerful abilities over time. It is believed that they do this by devouring magical Material or Infernal items, though magic items or similar things created during or around the time of the Great War between giants and dragons. While that age is long gone, these firedrakes are attracted to certain areas that contain tiny remnants of the unknown arcana left behind from that bygone era of violence and misfortune. When they travel to these areas, they tend to feed on whatever they find, be it magic items, treasure, animals, or even ore if its in the area. Once an emberspine firedrake absorbs and channels enough magic at a certain point in its life, it undergoes great physical changes and gains new abilities. When this happens with many other kinds of monsters, it is called being "Tempered". However, when a emberspine firedrake is "Tempered" their body and abilities vastly improve than one might expect from a normal "Tempered" creature.

PS, Blackened Draconic is a strange dialect of Draconic that most firedrakes know. It is almost exclusively spoken by firedrakes who have found refuge with what is left of Ancalagon and seek to emulate him as his followers.

An untold millienia ago, some say during the Great War, a dragon deity named Ancalagarrkas was killed in battle alongside his seven children by a duo of Giant deities know as the Faceless Twins of Judgment. However, it is believed that one of the seven children managed to escape. This child was named Ancalagon, and after he escaped from his father's killers, he hid for untold millions of years beneath the surface, slowly gaining power. One of the first acts he did was that he found a portal into one of the many godlike beings known as the Alrisen. This one was called the Accursed Archive, and for many good reasons. It had hidden within it, uncountable tomes and scriptures speaking of just about every single possibly evil thing that creature have said across the world's entire existence. Ancalagon took advantage of this by forcing the Alrisen to bend to his will and creating a gigantic magical staff out of a portion of the Alrisen itself. This forced the Accursed Archive to obey Ancalagon's demands, lest it be destroyed by its own power turning on it. In order to fully control the staff's abilities, Ancalagon imprisoned the soul of his deceased older sister in it, forcing her to become a power conduit of sorts. Using the staff, Ancalagon created a unimaginably vast and titanic city beneath the surface, using the magic of the staff too keep the city intact when so close to the planet's core. After creating his city, Ancalago slept for untold years, hiberanting to very slowly gain power until he was ready for the next part of his plan. Unfourtunatly for everyone, that plan did eventually come to fruition, with Ancalagon using his impressive magical abilities to create an army of possibly billions of draconic, fiendish beings known as firedrakes to conquer the entire world. However, Ancalagon's reign fell just as fast as it had risen. The Accursed Archive managed to contact the rest of the Alrised, who then decided to band together with the survivors of Ancalagon's invasion. With their combined power and the eventual sacrifice of a especially powerful Alrisen called simply The Risen Exile, Ancalagon and his firedrakes were just barely defeated, and with all of the Alrisen leaving Ancalagon, the staff lost its power, and Ancalagon's great city was entirely left to rot. While most of the firedrakes were destroyed, the few that remained regained their free will and blended in to the rest of the world as just another kind of draconic creature, leaving their legacy as potential world-enders behind.
