Shapechange. The Chupacabra can shapechange into creatures it has observed of a similar size. This enables it to stalk prey. It only uses the alter self ability to match humanoid appearances.

Truesight. The Chupacabra can see through invisibility, polymorph spells and and magical darkness.

Spellcasting. The Chupacabra is a 2nd level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is [Intellligence] (spell save DC 12, +4 to hit with spell attacks). The Chupacabra has the following spells prepared:

Cantrips (at will): Minor Illusion, Primal Savagery

1st level (3 slots): Entangle, Sleep, Expeditious Retreat

2nd level (2 slots): Alter Self, Silence, Invisibility

Actions

Stealthy Visage. The Chupacabra through the use of alter self, or invisibility will stalk and attack prey when its guard is lowered.

Surprise Pounce Attack. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 10 ft., 1 target. Hit:  (4 d6 + 4) Piercing damage. Target must make a Str save (dc 13) or be stunned/restrained. Attack has disadvantage if target is aware of their presence.

Visceral Feeding. Melee Weapon Attack:  +4 (with advantage), reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 14 (4 d6 + 2) Bleeding damage. On successful hit, living targets must make a Constitution saving throw (DC 12) with disadvantage, and take 1 level of exhaustion on a fail.

Hook Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +4 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 9 (3d4 + 3) slashing damage.

Reactions

Addling Quills. If attacked with a melee attack, the Chupacabra raises its back spine quills. On a hit, the attacker takes 2 d4 piercing damage and must make a Con save (dc 17) or become woozy, giving them disadvantage on having the will and clarity to attack.

Description

Unseelie Sanguirs, also known as Chupacabra, are despite their appearances, a fey creature. Derived from the Unseelie court in the Fey Wilds, the Sanguirs are known to be flighty ambush predators that rarely are seen by bystanders. Their size ranges from small to medium, rarely growing to the side of a normal medium humanoid.

Their normal form, while rarely seen, is one of a semi reptilian monkey, with claws, long thin limbs, with gripping hands, wide mouths with many thin sharp teeth, and a thin long sharp purple tongue. They possess wide flared nostrils and a relatively flat face, small upwards facing ears like a dog, and very large, black and blue eyes with an outer ring that sparkles like the compound eye patterning of insects. Their skin is normally a brownish green, though occasionally it is black, with little in the way of fur covering the shiny scale like pattern under the flesh. They lastly possess a long thin tail that flattens out into a thin triangle at the end, with two small hooks underneath.

Well known for their voracious appetites, they are frequent banes of herders who will have their flock slowly eaten away.

Sanguirs are notoriously clever, and semi-sentient. They can alter their form and interact among crowds of people or go invisible, watching the people with curiosity. They rarely ever attack people, preferring safer and less dangerous prey. They also have a tendency to be attracted to shiny things. There are reported instances, of Sanguirs occasionally leaving gifts and random trinkets to the owners of livestock they have fed upon as if to over recompense. Lastly, the Sanguire have an odd quirk of never going after the young of a species, preferring the old and feeble and then healthy adults of a prey species.

Sanguirs are somewhat social. They will in fact hunt in packs, though in many cases, unless the prey is large, only one will attack, while the others stay alert nearby or try to trick prey into breaking off from the main group where they can finish them off without alerting any noise.
