Legendary Resistance (3/day). If the worm fails a saving throw, it can choose to succeed instead.
Magically Resistant Chitin. The worm is resistant to damage from spell-based attacks. If the worm takes more than 50 piercing, bludgeoning, or slashing damage in a single turn, it loses this feature until the start of it's next turn, when the chitin regrows. The fourth time this happens in a day, the chitin cannot regrow until the worm takes a long rest, in which it regrows the chitin within the last hour of the rest.
Tunneler. The worm can burrow through solid rock at half its burrow speed and leaves a 20-foot-diameter tunnel in its wake.
Rampage. When the worm reduces a creature to 0 hit points with a melee attack on its turn, the worm can take a bonus action to move up to half its speed and make a bite attack.
Unstoppable. The worm is unaffected by difficult terrain, and it's movement is unable to be hindered in any way, short of a wish spell or sizable physical shift.
Multiattack. The worm makes two attacks: one with it's bite and one with it's stinger.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +16 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 32 (4d10 + 10) piercing damage. If the target is a Huge or smaller creature, it must succeed on a DC 21 Dexterity saving throw or be swallowed by the worm. A swallowed creature is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the worm, and it takes 36 (8d8) acid damage at the start of each of the worm's turns. Damage dealt to the worm from inside it is treated as if the worm is weak to it.
If the worm takes 60 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside it, the worm must succeed on a DC 24 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate all swallowed creatures, which fall prone in a space within 15 feet of the worm. If the worm dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse by using 40 feet of movement, exiting prone.
Tail Stinger. Melee Weapon Attack: +16 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 36 (6d6 + 10) piercing damage, and the target must make a DC 21 Constitution saving throw, taking 42 (12d8) poison damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Tail slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +16 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 30 (3d12 + 10) bludgeoning damage. Each creature within 5 feet of the target creature, including the target itself, must make a DC 21 Dexterity saving throw, or take 22 (3d6 + 11) bludgeoning damage and fall prone. On a success, they take half as much damage, and are not knocked prone.
Consume (Recharge 6). The worm charges forward half of its burrowing speed, during which it can move through Large or smaller creatures. Each creature that comes into contact with it must make a DC 21 Dexterity saving throw, or become consumed by the worm.
The worm can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The ancient purple worm regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Vomit. The worm regurgitates everything inside of it, dumping it all into a space within 15 feet of it's mouth. Creatures all exit prone, and everything is covered in a slimy mucus.
Tail Slam Attack. The worm makes a tail slam attack.
Digest (Costs 2 Actions). The worm takes a moment to digest the creatures inside of it. Each creature within the worm must make a DC 24 Constitution saving throw, taking 41 (12d6) acid damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success. Any creatures at 0 hp are instead digested, and they die instantaneously, leaving behind no remains.
