Traits

Rubbery Form. The body of a giant slug is very rubbery, allowing it to squeeze through spaces normally much too small for its bulk. A Giant Slug can move through a space 10 feet wide without squeezing. A Giant Slug can also move through a space 5 feet wide by squeezing

Salt Vulnerability (optional). A pound of salt thrown onto the Giant Slugs skin may deal 1d6 acid damage to the creature.

Water Vulnerability. Immersing the Giant Slug completely in water for longer than 1d4+1 minutes will kill the Giant Slug (not applicable to Aquatic Giant Slugs)

Actions

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 22 (3d10 + 6) piercing damage

Shooting Dart. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d6 + 9) piercing damage

Acid Spray (Recharge 5–6). The Giant Slug vomits acid in a 30-foot cone. Each creature in that area must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw, taking 55 (10d10) acid damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.

Description

Giant Slugs are typically a dull grey with a corpse-like pallor to their underside. The result of a mutation in an ordinary slug, the resulting omnivorous monstrosity has an enormous appetite and quickly develops a preference for flesh and bone. Smaller creatures are too nimble and fast for it to catch, so it targets larger mammals, such as humanoids and livestock. The Giant Slug has thick, rubbery flesh that is resistant to all bludgeoning damage and is deceptively flexible, able to squeeze its bulk through a space as narrow as five feet. The creature leaves a slick trail of slime as it moves and is able to disgorge copious sprays of potent digestive acid onto its prey as well as deliver a vicious bite with its fang covered radula. They also have a very nasty surprise for any large creature that gets too close, as they can fire a harpoon-like chitinous spear into a creature they are adjacent to.

Giant slugs roam constantly until they find a rich source of food, hunting the area clean, they also eat vegetation and have a wide tolerance for environments that are not too hot, cold or dry. The stats for an aquatic giant slug are exactly the same as the terrestrial version, except they lack the potent acid spray.
