Shadow Cloak: Azerath can cast Darkness at will, without expending a spell slot.
Ethereal Wings: Azerath's wings allow him to hover and fly without needing to use his movement.
Aura of Despair: Within 30 feet of Azerath, creatures have disadvantage on saving throws against fear effects.
Multiattack: Azerath makes three attacks: one with his Shadow Scythe and two with his Infernal Gaze.
Shadow Scythe: Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 25 (4d8 + 5) necrotic damage.
Infernal Gaze: Ranged Spell Attack: +12 to hit, range 60 ft., one target. Hit: 31 (6d10) fire damage.
Azerath can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. Azerath regains spent legendary actions at the start of his turn.
Darkened Veil: Azerath casts Darkness centered on himself.
Shadow Step: Azerath teleports up to 30 feet to an unoccupied space he can see.
Haunting Wail (Costs 2 Actions): Azerath emits a chilling wail, forcing all creatures within 30 feet to make a DC 20 Wisdom saving throw or become frightened for 1 minute.
Shared Ability: Celestial Annihilation
When all three fallen angels, Azerath, Metrion, and Zinthos, converge on the battlefield simultaneously, they can invoke the devastating power of Celestial Annihilation. This ability channels the corrupted remnants of their celestial essence, unleashing a cataclysmic surge of divine wrath upon their enemies.
- Activation: Requires all three fallen angels to expend their action on their turn to channel their energy into Celestial Annihilation.
- Effect: A blinding eruption of radiant energy engulfs the battlefield in a 100-foot radius sphere centered on their location. All creatures within the area must make a DC 20 Dexterity saving throw, taking 100 (20d10) radiant damage, 60 (10d12) necrotic damage, and 60 (10d12) fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
- Additional Effect: Any undead or fiend creature caught in the blast takes an additional 50 radiant damage.
- Secondary Effect: The very fabric of reality is destabilized within the area of effect, causing it to become a zone of desolation. For 24 hours, the affected area is treated as an antimagic field, nullifying all magical effects and preventing the casting of spells within its bounds.
- Recharge: Once Celestial Annihilation has been used, it cannot be invoked again until all three fallen angels have completed a long rest to replenish their expended celestial energies.
Description
Azerath, the Shadowreaper, stands tall and imposing, his form shrouded in the darkest of nights. His once-glorious wings, now tattered and ethereal, span wide, casting a haunting silhouette against the void. Clad in robes as black as the abyss itself, he moves with an eerie grace, his every step leaving wisps of shadow in his wake. His face remains hidden behind a veil of darkness, save for the burning red embers that pierce through, casting an ominous glow upon his surroundings. A halo of flickering flames dances behind his head, a stark contrast to the pallor of his gaunt, obsidian skin. A sense of ancient sorrow and profound resignation hangs heavy around him, like a shroud woven from the threads of countless lost souls.
History: Once, Azerath soared among the highest echelons of celestial beings, a paragon of virtue and righteousness. However, consumed by pride and envy, he sought to surpass the very gods he once served. In his hubris, he defied the divine order and was cast down from the heavens, condemned to an eternity of solitude and torment in the depths of the abyss.
For aeons, Azerath has wandered the void, his once-glorious wings now heavy with the weight of his sins. He has borne witness to the rise and fall of civilizations, the passing of ages like fleeting shadows. Despite his eternal exile, Azerath harbors a smoldering resentment towards the realm of mortals, viewing their transient triumphs with disdain and their fleeting joys with bitter contempt.
