Flyby. Swiftfeather doesn't provoke opportunity attacks when it flies out of an enemy's reach.
Keen Hearing and Sight. Swiftfeather has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on hearing or sight.
Magic Weapons. Swiftfeather’s weapon attacks are magical.
Ranger’s Companion. Swiftfeather obeys Merric’s commands and takes its turn on his initiative. On his turn Merric can command Swiftfeather where to move (no action required by Merric). Merric can also command Swiftfeather to take the Attack, Dash, Disengage, or Help action, if he doesn't issue a command Swiftfeather takes the Dodge action. If Merric is incapacitated or absent, Swiftfeather acts on its own, focusing on protecting Merric and itself. Swiftfeather never requires Merric’s command to use its reaction.
Merric’s proficiency bonus is added to Swiftfeather’s AC, attack rolls, damage rolls, and proficient skills; and Swiftfeather’s hit point maximum equals four times Merric’s ranger level (all included).
Talons. Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 11 (2d6 + 4) slashing damage. If Swiftfeather dives at least 30 feet straight toward the target immediately before the hit, the target takes an extra 6 (1d6 + 3) damage.
Terrifying Screech (Recharge 6). Swiftfeather screeches and any Beast or Humanoid other than Merric within 300 feet of it must succeed on a DC 11 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of Swiftfeather for 1 minute. A frightened target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. If a target’s save is successful or the effect ends for it, the target is immune to Swiftfeather’s Terrifying Screech for the next 24 hours.
Cavalry Training. When Merric hits a target with a melee attack while mounted on Swiftfeather, Swiftfeather can use its reaction to make one attack against the same target with its talons.

Swiftfeather has befriended and bonded to Merric Beastfriend, and together they are guardians of their woodland realm the Chndalwood.
