Traits

Telepathic Bond. The fiend ignores the range restriction on its telepathy when communicating with a creature it has charmed. The two don't even need to be on the same plane of existence.

Shapechanger. The fiend can use its action to polymorph into a Small or Medium humanoid, or back into its true form. Without wings, the fiend loses its flying speed. Other than its size and speed, its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.

Actions

Claw (Fiend Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d6 + 3) slashing damage.

Charm. One humanoid the fiend can see within 30 feet of it must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be magically charmed for 1 day. The charmed target obeys the fiend's verbal or telepathic commands. If the target suffers any harm or receives a suicidal command, it can repeat the saving throw, ending the effect on a success. If the target successfully saves against the effect, or if the effect on it ends, the target is immune to this fiend's Charm for the next 24 hours.

The fiend can have only one target charmed at a time. If it charms another, the effect on the previous target ends.

Draining Kiss. The fiend kisses a creature charmed by it or a willing creature. The target must make a DC 15 Constitution saving throw against this magic, taking 32 (5d10 + 5) psychic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the damage taken. This reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.

Etherealness. The fiend magically enters the Ethereal Plane from the Material Plane, or vice versa.

Description

Xan was originally named Elias Gehtts. He was born to Asha Gehtts, a single mother who was abandoned after her husband took on another young woman. She was a resentful woman who blamed her son for her misfortunes whenever they fell on her. Elias grew to be spiteful and prone to violent mood swings. He would often get into fights with other children. He would soon grow to be addicted to drugs and end up in the wrong crowds of people.

One day he overdosed on dream lily and found himself slipping away from the living. He was approached by a Pit fiend named Malco who mocked him for being such a low-level person not worthy of living. It offered him a chance to be better than he was if it entered a deal with it. Elias would be transformed into Incubus and tempt mortals into giving their souls to him. He would then give the souls he collected to Malco. Elias wouldn’t be bound to service like every other devil, and he would keep his own soul but if he slipped up and didn’t get the exact quota of souls that Malco wanted, then his soul would be taken from him and he would die, be reborn, and suffer for all eternity. Elias agreed to this agreement and made the deal with Malco. After the deal was made, the fiend murdered Elias and took his soul, reforming him into an Incubus. He took away Elias’s ability to feel love so his job would be easier to take the souls of the lustful.

Elias awoke the next morning in the middle of a field he had never seen. He was different. From his back were a pair of leathery black wings and curved, sharp horns were formed behind his ears. He knew exactly what he had to do, or his soul would suffer forever. After he saw what he had become, he knew he could not keep his name for fear of others knowing who he was and now became. He changed his name to Xan.

Xan began to travel often, spending the money of those he had seduced and killed. He would always gather the exact number of souls for the quota the Malco had set, never more, never less. Malco soon raised the demand for the souls that Xan was getting, and the incubus followed accordingly. Soon, Malco and Xan were meeting up often, not just for the daily report of how many souls Xan had gotten but to talk and such. As much as either one wanted to doubt it, they enjoyed each other’s company. Malco knew this and soon stopped visiting Xan and sent emissaries to check up on Xan. Xan felt lonely because of this and soon tried to make friends with other humans but would always be cursed for those around him to find out what he was, he was often ran out of towns because of it.

From people running him out of town and hating him to Malco taking steps to distance himself from Xan made the incubus believe that he deserved no happiness and would often act mean or rude to others on instinct. He would often distance himself from others just because he didn’t want to suffer the pain of being hated again.

Xan's sharp features give him a delicate appearance, but his defined muscles add a rugged edge to his appearance. His skin has a fair, pale peach hue that gives him a porcelain-like quality. His short blonde hair is styled with bangs that fall in front of his right eye, but he often pushes them back to reveal his striking molten gold eyes with black speckles.

However, his looks are not without scars. Acid burns mark the lower part of his back and the backs of his legs, serving as a reminder of a painful past. The tattoos that curl around his shoulders and upper arms showcase a different side of him, hinting at a rebellious spirit. A ghostly scar wraps around the base of his neck, adding to the enigmatic aura that surrounds him.
