Tactical Casting. When a battle mage casts a spell that causes damage or that forces a creature to make a saving throw, it can choose itself and any number of allies to be immune to the damage caused by the spell and to automatically succeed on the required saving throw.
Spellcasting. The battle mage is a 7th-level spellcaster. Its spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 14, +6 to hit with spell attacks). The battle mage has the following wizard spells prepared:
Cantrips (at will): fire bolt, mage hand, poison spray, shocking grasp
1st level (4 slots): burning hands, mage armor, magic missile, cause fear
2nd level (3 slots): flaming sphere, misty step, inflict wounds
3rd level (3 slots): glyph of warding, fireball, lightning bolt
5th level (1 slots): animate objects
Might of the Bloodline (Recharge 5-6). Ranged Spell Attack: +6 to hit, range 60 ft., one creature. Hit: 10 (2d6) necrotic damage. If either the Hierarch or the target is within 10 feet of one of the Hierarch’s phylacteries, the spell damage increases by 1d6.
Boiling Blood. The Heirarch's newly imbued blood overflows with power. When the Heirarch is hit by a melee attack, the attacker must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw (DC 13) or take 7 (2d6) necrotic damage.
Description
Aelina Firesong was once a fairly ordinary fire genasi sorcerer. Tempted by power, Aelina decided to become a Heirarch, the sorcerous version of a Lich. When the ritual was almost complete, it went awry, and she was killed. After being revived, she became a strange amalgamation of genasi and undead. She intends to try the ritual again and become a Heirarch at any cost.
Aelina has glowing fiery strands of hair, curly and light, bright red skin, and orange eyes. She wears much-embroidered robes, mostly in cool jewel tones with bright warm accents.
