Legendary Actions

Alberus has 5 legendary actions

Alluring Meal: 1 Action. Alberus can target any player within 45 ft. and infuse the players bodily flesh with +1 modifier to any roll, if consumed, lasting until Alberus is dead. Targeted player must pass a wisdom saving throw DC 15 to avoid consuming themselves. If failed, the target player must consume their own flesh dealing (1d6+3) damage consuming an action, gaining +1 modifier to any roll (stackable to +6), but the DC 15 will also increase by +1 (stackable to DC 21). This action will still continue even if the max stacks are met. A player can attempt to not eat their flesh by using a bonus action to pass the wisdom saving throw DC XX

Temptation of Flesh: Actions. Any player within 20 ft. of Alberus must roll a wisdom saving throw DC 16 to avoid this action. If failed, each failed player, on their turn, have to move towards Alberus and consume his flesh as an action dealing 5 (1d10) damage to Alberus per failed player. Failed players are controlled by Alberus, but can pass a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw to break free of Temptation of Flesh on their respective turn. Any players that passed or avoided his call can damage affected players to help them break free, but still must pass a DC 18 wisdom saving throw but with advantage. Charm spells, calm emotions, remove curse or similar spells has no effect in breaking this action. Players affected by this action can fall under this action again even if they broke free. If the player is also affected by Alluring Meal, they will maintain the stacks they have gained and can be used by Alberus or for the player to break free.

Description

Alberus The Uneaten was once a human man but now is a bloated, morbidly obese, and disgusting demon. Hints of his human characteristics still exist but it is stretched and disfigured from what he once was. Standing at 8 foot and 9 inches tall, and wide enough to cover a well sized pond. His green skin is covered in pustules which at any moment can pop from the slightest touch, and splotches of purple of his demonic blood flowing in his body. Patches of dried blood and scraps of various of flesh can be seen, most notably near his mouth constantly chewing on bone and flesh. Wearing demonic clothing too small for his figure and ripped at the seams.

Lair and Lair Actions

Alberus The Uneaten does not care for what his housing is nor the location, but the his location is always notable due to the smell of rotting flesh reaching from miles on end, and piles of corpse littering the landscape. The landscape can make any normal being wretch in disgust by the overwhelming smell and sight of his leftovers, and his "acolytes" close behind him and spreading his lavish bounty. Players and NPC's upon entering his domain within 30 miles will alert Alberus, but he will not be hostile to their intrusion. Instead showing up possessing a rotting corpse, a whispering in the wind, or even within the meal you consume. As the meals you have on you or have found tastes tainted and poisonous even though it was normal before you came here.

Lair Actions

On initiative count 16 (losing initiative ties), Alberus the Uneaten takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; the Alberus the Uneaten can’t use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • Summon 2 Flesh Golems within 15 ft. of Alberus the Uneaten.
  • Summon 6 Zombies within 15 ft. of Alberus the Uneaten.

Regional Effects

Players entering the region Alberus the Uneaten is in will be influenced by him, Creating the following effects to the players and NPC's in his region:

  • Every short rest and/or long rest, all players must make a constitution saving throw of DC 15 to stomach the meals you have on you or have found. If failed, the player instead takes 2 die of damage of the players primary class type, and -1 to any proficient skills, -2 to non-proficient skills, this does not stack and stays until any rest. Also if failed, Alberus will appear and attempt to persuade the players that consuming the corpse's will fill their appetite and making them stronger in the process. If the player accepts his bargain, the player rolls and gains 3 die of the players primary class type as temporary health and add +2 to all skills. When accepted, the player now must make a wisdom saving throw of DC 15 every short rest and/or long rest along with the constitution saving throw if they choose to refuse to eat corpse's afterwards. Even if they were "curious" of Alberus's offer, it still persists. If failed, the affected player will gain their temporary health, lose control, and attack the closest party member near them to consume them. The affected player can regain their mind if they are able to pass a wisdom saving throw of DC 15 on their turn or is knocked unconscious.
  • Alberus will constantly tempt the party to consume his feast and even send his acolytes to better persuade them. Sometimes even disguising their cut flesh as "edible meals" the party can consume.
  • Health potions and healing spells works normally, but remove curse, lesser/greater restoration or similar has no affect against any player or NPC that consumed flesh.

If and when Alberus is defeated, his effect in the region and affected players and NPC's will subside in 1 week, but will still affect those who enter his region during this time. Player's and NPC's who have consumed flesh, whether themselves or a corpse, must resist until the end of the 1 week period and must make a wisdom saving throw of DC 13 per long rest. If failed, will lose control and attack the closest party member. The affected player can regain their mind if they are able to pass a wisdom saving throw of DC 13 on their turn or is knocked unconscious.
