Storage Crystal. Within its skeletal form the bone herald conceals a special crystal. The crystal can store a number of skeletons or zombies equal to 2 * the bone herald's proficiency bonus.
Herald's Aura. When the bone herald is within 30 feet of a skeleton or zombie, they may add the bone herald's proficiency bonus to their attack and damage rolls.
Commander. The bone herald can forego one or more of its attacks, targeting up to 3 skeletons or zombies within 30 feet of it each time it does, and activate one of the following effects:
Rend. Each of its targets can use their reactions to move up to half their speed and make a single melee attack. If this movement brings the undead out of the herald's aura they retain the benefits of the aura until they attack.
Fire. Each of its targets can use their reaction to make a single ranged weapon attack or ranged spell attack (cantrip) against a creature within line of sight of both the bone herald and the undead.
Endure (Recharge 5-6). Each of its targets gains 10 temporary hit points and can add the bone herald's proficiency bonus to any saving throws they make until the next time they move.
Sacrifice (Recharge 5-6). Each of its targets immediately explode, and all creatures within 10ft of them must make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw taking 8d8 necrotic damage on a failure, or half as much on a success. A creature within range of multiple explosions only rolls one saving throw.
Multiattack. The bone herald makes two necrotic blast attacks.
Necrotic Blast. Ranged Spell Attack: +8 to hit, range 60 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8+4) necrotic damage.
Access Storage. The bone herald can move up to 3 undead into or out of its storage, or it can move an (inanimate) skeleton or cadaver.
