Keen Sight. The vulpelar has advantage on Wisdom (Perception) checks that rely on sight.
Carry off. On a hit, the vulpelar may also attempt to carry off any small creature. (DC15 STR) or tiny creature (DC10 STR) in its beak.
If carried off, the creature may force the vulpelar to release it for a DC15 STR check. If the vulpelar takes damage it will release the creature immediately. (it is worth considering what height the vulpelar has gained before doing this.)
Beak. Melee Weapon Attack: +2 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 2 (1d4) piercing damage.
Poop. Ranged Weapon Attack; +1 to hit (limited to once per short rest) reach (vertical unlimited) one target. Hit: 1 psychic damage.
Dive bomb. Can escape an attack of opportuniy when flying in for a beak attack. (However, any creature which has held a melee action may make it when the vulpelar reaches melee range.)
Description
A vulpelar is a beligerant but extremely wary medium monstrosity consisiting of the beak wings and legs of a seagul, combined with the body, hind quarters and tail of a fox.
Being predominantly a scavenger, it gathers in varying numbers depending on the amount of scrap food available. Its feeding call is a high pitched keening skawk. The mating call, almost always heard at night, is an ethereal and disturbing cry which resembles a screaming child or a banshee. It makes the skin crawl and the hairs stand up on end.
Vulpelar rarely attack humanoids, however, if they see an opportunity to swoop down on an unsuspecting creature to steal food they will do so, and their speedy flight means they avoid an opportunity attack. They will also rip open any unattended bags or tents that may contain food, leaving the mess scattered around afterwards.

Posted Aug 21, 2019I really should have made the "Poop attack" a wisdom saving throw taking 1d4 psychic damage on a fail.
