Buzz. Once per long rest. Each creature within 60 ft. of the beeholder must make a DC 12 Wisdom saving throw or be confused until the end of their next turn. An affected target can't take reactions and must roll a d10 at the start of each of its turns to determine its behavior for that turn.
| d10 | Behavior |
|---|---|
| 1 | The creature uses all its movement to move in a random direction. To determine the direction, roll a d8 and assign a direction to each die face. The creature doesn't take an action this turn. |
| 2-6 | The creature doesn't move or take actions this turn. |
| 7-8 | The creature uses its action to make a melee attack against a randomly determined creature within its reach. If there is no creature within its reach, the creature does nothing this turn. |
| 9-10 | The creature can act and move normally. |
Swarm of Bees. The Beeholder conjures 1d4 swarm of bees at the beginning of his turn. The bees attack each creature within a 20 ft. radius centered on the Beeholder.
Eye Rays. The Beeholder can use following Eye Rays at random:
1. Fear Ray. The targeted creature must succeed on a DC 16 Wisdom saving throw or be frightened for 1 minute. The target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.
2. Enervation Ray. The targeted creature must make a DC 16 Constitution saving throw, taking 36 (8d8) necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
3. Disintegration Ray. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or take 45 (10d8) force damage. If this damage reduces the creature to 0 hit points, its body becomes a pile of fine gray dust.
-
If the target is a Large or smaller nonmagical object or creation of magical force, it is disintegrated without a saving throw. If the target is a Huge or larger object or creation of magical force, this ray disintegrates a 10-foot cube of it.
Stinger. Melee Weapon Attack: +5 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (4d6) piercing damage.
The beholder can take 1 legendary action, using the Eye Ray option below. It can take it only at the end of another creature’s turn. The beholder regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.
Eye Ray. The beholder uses one random eye ray.
Description
The Beeholder looks like a giant ball of puff. Protruding from its voluminous body are stalks which don’t end in eyes, but instead life bees grow from them. This swarm is keeping the creature afloat. A small insectoid eye is centered in its big round body, which is about 3 feet in diameter. It has eerily humanoid looking lips that periodically form the words "buzz".
