Death Burst. Upon death, the Bliss Worm can burst, causing any creature within 1ft to be coated with its fluids. The creature must make a CON save DC 16 or suffer its narcotic effects. On a failed save, for 1 hour the creature feels no pain, has disadvantage on any INT or WIS rolls, automatically fails any saves against Charm or Fear and their speed is halved.

Parasite. The Bliss Worm burrows into a host body (must be a living beast or humanoid that has living tissue to feed on). This worm values a symbiotic relationship with its host, granting those it inhabits bonuses to physical traits, this may cause a creature to exceed its natural limits. Some even seek out these worms to infest themselves, however if they remain unchecked, the worms multiply, granting further benefits, but taking greater control over the host. The final stages of infection turn the host body into a spawning pool for the worms and become rabid, cannibalistic feral monsters who infect those around them, often being confused for zombies or mad folk, in this final stage the worms consume and replace the spinal column, keeping the brain alive but denying it any control over the body, making it a prisoner in a cage of flesh, a Bliss Worm Shambler. Those infected with this worm can become addicted to the worm's saliva, a valuable alchemical substance.

Infection. A creature with the Bliss Worm within them gains the following benefits at each stage of infection (along with all previous stages' benefits):

  • Stage 1. Host gains 10ft movement,10 hp and 1 additional d6 hit die.
  • Stage 2. Host gains +2 to STR, DEX and CON.
  • Stage 3. Host gains Advantage on Perception and Intimidation,
  • Stage 4. Host gains +2 to STR, DEX and CON.
  • Stage 5. Host gain immunity to pain, when they fall to 0 hp, they begin making death saves but do not fall unconscious, nor is their movement restricted.
  • Stage 6. Host becomes Bliss Worm Shambler.
Actions
