Traits

Lightning Absorption. Whenever the shambling mound is subjected to lightning damage, it takes no damage and regains a number of hit points equal to the lightning damage dealt.

Stinking Aura. Whenever threatened, the Ancient Shambling Mound emits a putrid smelly aura, centered on itself and emanating out 20 feet. Any creature that starts their turn in the aura my make a Con Save against poison (DC: 14) or spend their action retching and spewing. 

False Appearance. While the Shambling Mound remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary pile of brush or mud puddle.

Actions

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d8 + 6) bludgeoning damage. On a successful hit the target must make a DC 14 Strength check or become grappled.

Engulf. The shambling mound engulfs a Medium or smaller creature grappled by it. The engulfed target is blinded, restrained, and unable to breathe, and it must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw at the start of each of the mound’s turns or take 15 (2d8 + 6) bludgeoning damage. If the mound moves, the engulfed target moves with it. The mound can have only one creature engulfed at a time.

Bonus Actions

1/Day the Ancient Shambling Mound can cast Mirror Image as a bonus action, gaining 3 mirror images.

Lair and Lair Actions

Temporal Forest Lair: Any creature within 50 ft of the muddy pond at the start of it's turn must roll a d20. On an 11 or higher the creature is teleported up to 10 ft in a random direction. This effect will not move through objects and does no damage from this effect. Any creature engulfed or grappled by the Ancient Shambling Mound is immune to this effect.
