Shapechanger. The mimic can use its action to polymorph into an object or back into its true, amorphous form. Its statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment it is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. It reverts to its true form if it dies.
False Appearance (Tower Form Only). While the mimic remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from an ordinary tower. The mimic's interior is also indistinguishable from a tower's; a creature in the mimic's interior can't discern its true nature even while the mimic is in motion unless the mimic uses its pseudopods to make an attack.
Adhesive (Tower Form Only). The mimic can use a bonus action to adhere to anything that is touching it. A Huge or smaller creature adhered to the mimic is also grappled by it (escape DC 16). Ability checks made to escape this grapple have disadvantage. A creature that manages to break this grapple is immune to this trait of the mimic for the next 24 hours.
Grappler. The mimic has advantage on attack rolls against any creature grappled by it.
Multiattack. The mimic makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its pseudopod.
Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d8 + 6) piercing damage. If the target is a Large or smaller creature, it must succeed on a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or be swallowed by the mimic. A swallowed creature is trapped within the interior of the mimic. It has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the mimic. A swallowed creature is also grappled by the mimic (see Adhesive trait).
Pseudopod. Melee Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 19 (3d8 + 6) bludgeoning damage. The mimic can attack a creature in its interior using its pseudopods regardless of the creature's exact location. If such an attack hits, it deals an additional 13 (3d8) acid damage.
Pseudoboulder. Ranged Weapon Attack: +10 to hit, range 120/600 ft., one target. Hit: 22 (3d10 + 6) bludgeoning damage.
