Description
Abyss ants, resembling giant ants but with a piebald coloration of putrid pink and fish-belly white, are vicious predators found both in the Abyss and occasionally on the Prime Material Plane. They communicate through limited telepathy among themselves and exhibit territorial behavior.
Combat
In battle, abyss ants rely on their acidic sting and ability to spit acid at their foes. They coordinate attacks with their telepathic bond, swarming a single target until it is incapacitated or dead.
Habitat/Society
Abyss ants establish large underground nests, resembling those of giant ants, with hundreds of worker/warriors and a single queen. They maintain a territory around their nest, eradicating all life within it except for herds of creatures they domesticate for food.
Ecology
Abyss ants are ferociously territorial and maintain an ecosystem around their nests by eradicating all life within their territory except for herds of creatures they domesticate for food. Their acidic saliva is a crucial ingredient in the creation of universal solvent.
