Traits

Magic Resistance. The drake has advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects.

Weaponized. This creature is partly made out of firearms and can be affected by any spells or abilities that would normally affect such an object.

Actions

Multiattack. The drake makes either two weapon attacks or one Gatling Gun attack.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, range 5 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d8+5) piercing damage.

Potshot. Ranged Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, range 60/240 ft., one target. Hit: 13 (2d6+5) piercing damage.

Rotary Blowback Cannon. The drake sprays a 10-foot-cube it can see within 60 feet with shots. Each creature in the area must succeed on a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw or take 16 (4d6) piercing damage, or half as much on a successful save.

Bullet Storm (Recharge 5-6). The drake opens fire on a wide area, showering a 60-foot cone with bullets. Each creature in range must succeed on a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw or take 40 (8d8) piercing damage, or half as much on a successful save.

Incendiary Volley (Recharge 6). The drake fires incendiary shells at three points it can see within 60 feet of it. Each creature within 20 feet of those points must make a DC 17 Dexterity saving throw or take 32 (8d6) fire damage, or half as much on a successful save. A creature in the area of more than one fiery burst is affected only once.

Reactions

Mirror Coat Proto. When the drake is targeted by a spell of 3rd level or lower, it may use its reaction to nullify that spell. Then roll a d20. If the result is 11 or higher on the die, that spell's effects are applied to the caster instead. The drake must be able to see the caster of the spell and they must be within 60 feet of the drake.

Description

Modeled after a Gatling Dragon, Blowback Drakes are smaller and more compact in design. The rotary blowback cannon may offer less power than its counterpart found on the Gatling Dragon, due to its smaller size and caliber; but it holds a slightly higher rate of fire and is less prone to overheating. The latest models come equipped with a state-of-the-art Mirror Coat Systems that are capable of nullifying and reflecting low level magic back at the casters.

Blowback Drakes were designed by Millie Frostdown with the primary function of helping to upkeep security in the city of Fortuna, the Frostdown estate, and all Frostdown territories. These mechanical marvels are usually paired with one high ranking soldier or champion.
