Spider Climb. The arachwoodin can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.
Web Sense. While in contact with a web, the arachwoodin knows the exact location of any other creature in contact with the same web.
Web Walker. The spider ignores movement restrictions caused by webbing.
Ethereal String Control. While in contact with a web, the arachwoodin can instantly charm any spiders also in contact with the same web.
False Appearance. While the arachwoodin remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a normal mannequin.
Puppeteer Blade. Melee Weapon Attack: +3 to hit, reach 5 ft., 1 target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 3) slashing damage.
Webbing Spew. The arachwoodin spews a large portion of webbing out of one of the wooden arms of their puppet, and all creatures within a 30 ft. line must make a DC12 Dexterity or DC16 Strength Saving Throw (their choice), becoming restrained on a failed save. As an action, the restrained target or any creatures within 5 ft. of the target can make a DC16 Strength check, bursting the webbing on a success.
Description
The arachwoodin is a wooden puppet with six arms, and a featureless body, with the exception of its head being split in half vertically, to create some form of mouth. This puppet is controlled by a spider that has entered the puppet through the mouth, and which now resides in the torso of the puppet. It still lies in wait to entrap creatures, but rather than residing on a large web, it stands by in the darkness of abandoned houses, mines, and many other places, waiting for larger creatures to appear before slicing them to pieces.
The origins of the puppet body are completely unknown, though some common theories are of a wizard or druid of sorts, who wished to create a spider army, as well as the idea of a giant spider being granted higher intellect, in which it created the bodies for other spiders less fortunate than it. The most popular theory, however, is that the puppet was made for theatre purposes, before being taken over by spiders, and recreated using less and less pristine wood from the wilds.
