Actions
  • Multiattack: Al-Muhaddim makes two attacks: one with its bite and one with its tail slap.
  • Bite: Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 27 (3d10 + 7) piercing damage.
  • Tail Slap: Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 20 ft., one target. Hit: 20 (3d6 + 7) bludgeoning damage.
Legendary Actions
  • Sakan Call: Al-Muhaddim summons 1d4 Sakan to aid it in combat. These Sand Dwellers are friendly to Al-Muhaddim and act on its initiative count. They disappear after 1 minute or when Al-Muhaddim is reduced to 0 hit points. Once per day.

  • Swallow: Al-Muhaddim makes one bite attack against a Huge or smaller creature it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. The swallowed target is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside Al-Muhaddim, and it takes 24 (6d6) acid damage at the start of each of Al-Muhaddim's turns. If Al-Muhaddim takes 40 damage or more on a single turn from a creature inside it, Al-Muhaddim must succeed on a DC 18 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate the swallowed creature, which falls prone in a space within 15 feet of Al-Muhaddim. If Al-Muhaddim dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse using 20 feet of movement, exiting prone.

Description

Rumbler, known as 'Al-Muhaddim' in the ancient tongues of the Dark Wastes, is a legendary terror that commands the shifting sands with unparalleled might. Towering over the dunes, its massive form is both feared and revered by those who dwell in the desert. When Al-Muhaddim moves, the ground trembles, announcing the approach of this colossal predator. Legends speak of Al-Muhaddim's lair, a labyrinthine network of tunnels hidden beneath the endless sands, where it slumbers until stirred by the call of hunger. Those who dare to face Al-Muhaddim risk not only their lives but the very foundations of the desert itself."

Lair and Lair Actions

Lair Actions: On initiative count 20 (losing initiative ties), Rumbler takes a lair action to cause one of the following effects; it can't use the same effect two rounds in a row:

  • The ground shakes violently, causing all creatures within 60 feet of Rumbler to make a DC 16 Dexterity saving throw or be knocked prone.
  • Sand erupts from the ground, creating difficult terrain in a 20-foot radius centered on a point Al-Muhaddim can see within 120 feet of it. This effect lasts until initiative count 20 on the next round.
